Last night Roy was awesome in his come back game with 27 points, but seriously L.A. only 14 points and no one else in double figures!!!!!! When will this team realize we need scoring if we are going to compete in the west. We know now that Oden isn't going to be our scoring savior, Roy is going to do most of the heavy lifting on bad knees, and L.A. is going to be the uneventful kind of good L.A. WE NEED A THIRD POINT SCORER ON THIS TEAM!!!!

Question is, do we have that player on the team now or should we look to go after someone outside the team. If outside who? And if inside who should become the third CONSISTENT option for us?

I think we should make a trade for someone known to put up points in the painted area! This jump shooting for the last 3 yrs is killing us!!!!!! 31% shooting from the field and hardly any free throws - if this continues we might find ourselves out of the playoff race. Defense can't win every game for us - we need to score too!!!

    I agree.
What i see, is Everyone wanting to give the ball to Mathews, a 2nd year player who still needs alot of work to become a consistant offensive weapon.
Then there is Aldridge, now, he is going to do his thing like he has been here in Portland, he believes his offensive awarness is better than it is, so when he's doin work on offense, you might be looking at a  %50 shooter who's gonna throw up around 10-18 shots a night and maybe snag 10 boards.
We have Batum, a guy who i think is the best hope this team HAS (currently) at an offensive weapon.
He is fast, LBJ fast, he can get up, we know he can dunk and fly through the air. He has a decent 3 ball, but settles for it too often. He could really be deadly on the mid range j and driving to the basket and drawing the foul.

However, the problem that remains, is Nates Game plan. The monotary style of play that allows this team to be one of the most predictable offenses in the league.
Batum coming and doing the things i described, wouldnt work with how our offense is run currently.
So you have to ask yourself the next question, Where can we start to Fix this problem?

We have players who can be a 3rd scorer; problem is they're too inconsistent and you never know who that will be on a nightly basis.

We could possibly take McCollum with the 10th pick and trade him to the kings for Marcus Thornton. I would personally prefer if we kept McCollum because he can give us scoring off the bench and he will bring that maturity of having been in college...

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.

Special K, aren''t you a cereal? And yes, Batum is expensive, but I think he''s worth it. Why would you take someone who isn''t is as good, just for less money. Then why don''t we take the worst possible player and pay him the least possible amoun...
