Alright I take pride in being a Blazer fan who has respect for good people and it really doesn't get much better than Dikembe Mutumbo. He is a class act and a void was left in my heart when I heard his injury was career ending. Now I know he was in his 18th season and he should have retired a while ago, but when it happens to a guy like that there is going to be a bit of a shock. He has donated over 18 million dollars to build hospitals in the war torn country of Sudan. He learned the game of basketball while studying to be a doctor at Georgetown. He can speak English, Portugese, French, and Spanish as well as 16 African dialects. I know this isn't a eulogy, but after tonight it almost feels like it. I wish him the best in his post-NBA endeavors. He is the one of the best NBA players to have never worn a Blazer uniform, and one of the best humans in the history of man. Congratulations to Portland on your big win, and best of luck to Deek. It is too bad that such an awesome win has to have such heavy undertones, but Deek was a truly great guy.
I am a fan of #20 in the rafters, but #1 in our hearts and prayers...The Enforcer

I was so proud of our fans when they gave him a standing ovation as he was taken out of the arena. True fans that know a great act when they see one. Pure class from our fans last night.
I am a fan of not being a fan of the close season :)

Mutombo was an incredible NBA player and we should all hope that Oden turns out exactly like him. I wish him the best. He should be fine; he's such a humanitarian I could see him becoming an ambassador or political figure of some sort.

All great things must come to an end sometime. its just sad how this story will end. however i believe he's left a big enough impact on basketball, even more the world. Im sure his generosity will continue and being forced to retire will not change much about him. He is an amazing guy, and was the last player i remember watching in my childhood. Wish him well, and thank you Portland for being so great by respecting him on his way out.
I am a fan of go ahead and close off the paint, we'll still destroy you from the perimeter.

The one thing about Mutombo is he is a class act. The only thing I have ever heard fans complain about is the finger wave when he blocked a shot. Everybody has there thing and I actually liked the finger wave. He was saying not in my neighborhood which is what I remember hearing all growing up. Over the past we have seen a lot of different signatures such as the finger wave, raise the roof, and many others. What Mutombo has done for the NBA has helped out everybody and built bridges among many. Good Luck to you Mutombo and the NBA and all of its fans will miss you.
I am a fan of the blazers, the most under rated and hardest working team in the nba.

Dikembe Mutombo single handedly stopped the heavily favored Sonics brigade of Kemp, Payton and Schrempf in the playoffs...Twice! Just ask Coach Nate (:

Thank you, Knorton. Now more rebuilding or anything. No rookie nonsense. Get a solid Defensive big. Trade every single pick to get it.

I don''t trust big men with a history of injury. Ibaka also weighs more than Noel, but you''re right, early days yet, he could bulk up. I am sure, that he will lose some of his speed and athleticism when he does though. Wasn''t that one of his bes...
