dude, are you serious? i saw somebody post that, but you seriously can't be telling everybody on this site that you think we all think Batum is better than Durant. LMAO. ummmmm... no. Arrogant much?

Anyway, I feel bad for the guy. I was REALLY looking forward to him coming out and tearing it up for a contract. I'm finally able to accept that we're not going to get to see you play for us again. Time to figure out where we go from here with the team. Good luck to Gregg though.

Yes that guy can't read, or he reads one thing and assumes everyone thinks the same.

And yes this injury is tough, but he won't even be close to what he can do until 2 seasons from now. That seems to be how long it really takes to come back after microfracture surgery.

You're a very sad excuse for a person, danyyy12.  I wonder how you'd feel if you were injured, required surgery followed by a long rehab, and your family told you they didn't want you and to just get outta here.  You're not a Blazers fan at all and I think YOU should just GET OUTTA HERE!

I'm not giving up on Greg. I'm standing with him in support of him through this difficult time.  Only the weak fall by the wayside, but the strong puses through the next level.  At 22 years old We have time on our side.

Finally!!!!!!! The nail in the coffin with this guy and the Blazers? 4 yrs of trouble and the "potential" talk is hopefully over. I'm happy the truth finally came out about this Guy. We should have been wise enough as an organization to know he was injury prone when he played in the national Championship hurt. And to think we all made fun of KD because he couldn't even bench his own weight and 'he was to skinny for the NBA' - HA!!! what a joke.
I don't feel any symphony for this guy at all because only the strong survive in the world of the NBA and you are Weak and our team was weakened by dragging you along all this time. We should have cut the dead weight lose awhile ago and at least got something for him while suckers were still asking. Now we get NADA, what a joke. At leat we didn't extend him - CHO you are the man, keep up the good work.
I know I will get hate messages for this post, but I don't care!!!! I have made my disgust in G.O. known in past threads, so now maybe all you "potentialists" will look to the reality the facts when it comes to injuries and players who's bodies aren't going to last HINT HINT!!!!
The sad thing is, I bet some of you are still thinking G.O. is only 22 and he could recover and be an O.K. player in this league, Weird. Why are we so committed to this guy? I don't know why we worship him and want him to do well, I want him to crawl back to his cave like a hurt sad giant and never be seen again, like all mythic creatures.

This team scrapped, clawed and played exciting and competitive basketball last season despite having like a billion injuries. It's quite obvious we're in for a similar season of winning and losing heart wrenching battles. Who wants to see the Blazers win by big margins all the time? I kinda like the hair raising games.

When Oden gets healthy next season, this should help to appease the fans that want to see the Blazers smash teams by 20 every other night.

Did anybody see that on KGW's website, that they have re-posted the initial report on when the city had the Oden rally just after the draft . . .I have to admit, that was a bit sad and painful to watch . .to see how happy the young fans were and how happy and pumped G.O. was . . . and I have to admit, I wish Pritchard was still around for emotional reasons . . I don't know if anyone would agree with that but I guess I'm just feeling sentimental about things right now . . . *sigh*

    GO BLAZERS!!!!

What was worse is ESPN had a "Love your NBA" commercial on during the Spurs/Bulls game. It had a bunch of Durant highlights. Then immediately following that commercial ESPN had breaking news about Oden needing surgery and missing this season. That was a mean plant by ESPN, there's no way that was coincidental.

Maybe you guys have already seen this, but here is the GameTime crew on Oden: http://www.nba.com/video/channels/nba_tv/2010/11/18/20101117_gametime_oden.nba/

I haven't been a fan of Kenny Smith ever since the dunk contest when the disrespected Rudy's tribute and Rudy, but I think this is mostly true and good vibes from him and especially Greg Anthony. I just want to see Greg play, it's ok if won't be that dominant player he dreamed to be, but like Kenny says, just to play and to be able to run the floor without too much worry - that's all I want - I hope Greg, though he has been quoted as saying he was "devastated" that we will keep his head up, get all the support he needs and just knows that if he keeps at it and focuses, he can get back and still have a decent career. We love you G.O.!!!

What I dont understand is how could he need surgery after a surgery? with almost a full year of rehab and we are just now finding out he needs another surgery? Who is his doctor, Jeckle or Hyde? I wont go back on his draft just as I wont in the case of Bowie. We needed a center so we got one, both times. I feel bad for Greg but I think he needs to go get a degree and THAN see if he can come back and play basketball. Right now he would be crazy asking anything more than league minimum. Now that this question is over let us see what we can do with the rest of the season and go win some dam ballgames.

I was kinda torn with my feelings about this, until I listened to the press conference. I had it on the radio at work, and the entire time I'm thinking to myself, man... it sounds like Jay Jensen is about to start crying...

Then when I got home I watched the video of it on trailblazer.tv and sure enough... he almost lost it several times. That just kills me. This team and its players, coaches, and staff, are so much more of a family than we all realize I think. And this NBA team is different from other teams, we just are, and we need to face that. Nate has done an unbelievable job recuilding this team from its "jail blazer" days, and I am more proud of this team now than I have ever been. They will move forward from this, as they always do.

I am extremely sad for Greg....what happens with the team's direction at this moment is secondary. I wouldn't be surprised if Greg wants to move on....I hope both parties don't give up on each other ....I still believe in my heart of hearts that Greg will come back strong and be a force in the NBA. The tragedy of the story would be if the BLAZERS did not reap the award. Greg is still very very young...and with everything in life I still need to have some hope. I so dislike the personal attacks on him...it is the part of sports that makes me want to turn away.
Like with everything in life, there are risks and rewards and those which I have no control of. I will follow Greg in his life as a human being....no matter where he is...that is how much I care about him.

We should support the guy. We need to show him that the city of portland has his back and wont give up on him. His first micro-fracture surgury was a success and I should expect that the surgury on his other knee should be the same. Jay said that his knee density is strong and it can carry odens body. If we dont sign him next year then he will sign with someone else and be great... then how would you feel..

A lot of people are sad for him as a person, not as a basketball player. So way to be a (please no attacks-DHawes22). I understand you are a realist and are a fan who wants a championship, so am I. But with this news you have got to feel bad for him as a person after all he's been through. Fact is the blazers ran all sorts of tests to find out why he gets injured at the knees, and even did MRI's on his knees pre-draft.

Aside from being sad for him as a person, as a basketball player I think it's time for the organization to move on. But if you can sign the guy to a contract less than 3 million that's a bargain.

Completely agree Dustin.  There is no use focusing on what we cannot change and need to look forward and help this team keep fighting.  We are a high quality team stll and can beat anybody.  Supporting your team when they need is is what the fans need to do.  As a true fan I still believe that we are contenders and will continue to support our team.

@ Betram, I know I should be feel for him as a Person, But I didn't know him personally and I only knew him as a face on a TV screen or a Dude sitting on the bench when I went to games. I can not muster the personal feelings I have for people who I can actually influence by being in a close relationship with. Shoot, I feel way more concern and feeling for the homeless kids who bug the crap out me when I walk down Hawthorne or Belmont to go get my stumptown coffee.
Fact is ODEN was a simple Tool in my world. His value was only as good as he could have done on my favorite hometown team. Shoot, he was never going to kick it at my house with me and my bro's and drink cheap beer and talk crazy. He was going to play ball, then go home to his nice huge house,  and live the rich mans life. I have nothing in common with that. I have simple pleasures like watching the beauty of a good game where my team wins, because they played hard. He didn't do the job and now he can take his millions and push off.
So no, I don't feel for him as a human. Much respect to you though, since I like your posts and comments.K

Well i dont know if you are on this site much but in just about every thread where batum and or durant is discussed Batum is always favored out to be better, so actually i get my arrogant facts from the reDONKulous posts.

Well whats the deal with the medical staff, the trainers?
What are they saying about this, because many a people like you are asking questions, questions about what stinks about our players health.
Well the oder is drifting in their direction and us people want some answers.
OR what do our players do outside of the garden. i mean i know Patty and Rudy play slap and tickle at each others apartments but what about Roy and Oden are the base jumping or riding Pogo Sticks to work?
