I don't have a link to the story,  so if somebody has time to throw the link up it would be appreciated.

I read today in the Oregonian Dr. Robert H. Sandmeier has stated that Roy's injury is not as bad as people make it out to be and can easily be treated if the trainers have him work on his hip and thigh muscles to reduce strain on his kneed.  If treated properly he can get back to his regular high-level of play.

This is great news to me I am so happy to hear this...

How many people who have NOT looked at Brandons knee or mri have an opinion ?
    Too many for me.

When do we get the actual orthopod, who looks at the mri's opinion ?
Sorry Deity, I learned a long time ago not believe things as fact just because they are written in the Oregonian.....

Would you rather I jump on the trade Roy bandwagon? I believe this at least gives a positive outlook on the situation giving hope and not look to trade Roy just because of this set back.  I prefer to be an optimist as opposed to the plethora of pessimists around the site.

Jump wherever, believe whatever you want to, it's a free country :)

I wish we would at least hear something, though I can't blame the Blazers for not wanting to rush any news, with the circus this has become.

I'm an optimist myself, and truly believe even if Roy is out, this team has a lot of talent.

I'm in the minority , since the media in Portland brainwashes everyone with opinions based on an angle to create more revenue.
It's always been a peeve of mine here in Portland.

Before I jump anywhere, I want to hear from someone who has no financial gain by spreading the news.

The best use I have for the Oregonian, is starting fires :)

I agree with you that this team has plenty of talent to be successful while Roy sits I would like to see Luke getting 10 minutes a game down this stretch and get his sweet J involved

Good post Fallen. It's good to finally hear some news that could lead us to the light at the end of the tunnel. While the team has talent outside of Roy, it's his intangibles that make him the great asset to the team. No one else possesses the type of leadership, or poise, or ability to perform in the clutch that Brandon brings to the team. Let's all hope and pray he'll be alright.

Here is the link to the story I think you are talking about. And Kim the more Doctors opinions the better when we haven't heard anything from the Blazers, it's people like posters here or where ever who give their opinions that don't really matter because they are not doctors. People who say "trade Brandon" or "Give him microfracture surgery now!!" are just plain ridiculous and not only do they have no clue as to what they are talking about medically, but they don't know the exact details of Brandon's injury. If you read what those doctors said they clearly explain that if the situation is this or that then the possibility of this or that could very well be the outcome and it is a very good educated guess that is more valuable than people saying "trade Brandon" and is also good to help calm some people down who are worried about Brandon.

And I believe if Roy is out for more than a month there is almost NO chance of getting out of the first round, if we even got there. A healthy Brandon Roy is one of the most feared players in the entire NBA no matter where any one ranks him on any list.

Let me tell you something about the medical field. There is a reason they call it a medical practice. Not everything is absolute even in diagnosis and prognosis. This is why doctors ask for a second opinion, they want to maybe clarify some doubts they have or clarify what they think of results.

Why do people taste their cooking before claiming it done?

    Back on topic:
When I had tendinitis on both of my knees, I was told to strengthen my core muscles and muscles surrounding the hip to help ease some of the pressure from the knees. For Brandon it just might work but how much of a difference it makes for a pro basketball player..I'm not sure.

Brandon had his best year of basketball in the 08-09 season when he had no meniscus on one of his knees, I'm sure after the pain subsides for him he'll go back to what Tom said. One of the most feared basketball players in the NBA.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
