He was on 1080 The Fan yesterday and said he's not playing 5-on-5 anymore and that a return before the New Year is highly unlikely. I guess this is why he's going down to LA for a 2nd opinion on his knee? Man, this is tough news to swallow in the morning after leaving last night with such a good feeling about the team.

Man, that is not good. It's just so sad; when we drafted Oden, got Roy and LMA . . the talk of the championship window, etc . . .I mean we are STILL a great team, but it wouldn't hurt to have those main guys going at it each game, without these other issues. I mean, there are always ups and downs during the season, bad nights and all . . .that I can deal with or put up with, but this is just getting to be too much . . .

Weird and frustrating!!!!!

Blazers have several with back ~ foot injuries.

Blazers are running them too hard or something. Maybe get them in a pool and have them kick some water for an hour a day. My point is, we're the only team in the league with the same injuries piling up in the same general location. It is not misfortune or weird, our coach and or trainers are not training them properly.

He won't. He can't even play 5v5 anymore. Oden's NBA career is finished. He was too heavy when he entered the NBA compared to college. He gained over 20 pounds in the transition. He screwed up his own career. He was also drinking too often and staying awake late. What did you expect to happen to Oden?

99% of the media portrays him as a saint, like he is doing every thing in his power to battle back. He's lazy and a sellout.

Oden will never be a powerful force again.

I'm sorry Blazer fans, I'm a realist. What will he never be the same as ?? Sounds like the same news we have always heard to me.

Imo, if this continues, Oden will be the most valuable to the Blazers, as trade piece with an expiring contract .

I think we wont see oden this year at all. He's not coming this new years that means he wont recover for play offs time, i think we just need to swallow this one and put it behind. Keep on building this team stronger and acquire a new star cuz from what it looks like Roy isn't perfectly healthy too. Oden needs to retire!

Not too long ago, I was watchin' the Blazers lose by 30-40 every other night.
These Blazers we have now are winners. They play good, solid basketball for 48 minutes, and in their battles they've had many unfortunate injuries.
I'm darn tootin' proud to be a Blazer fan, no matter who's on the court for this team.

It looks like the 2nd visit to the Doc for Greg came away with nothing new to report. The 2nd Doc basically confirmed what the team training staff originally diagnosed. I don't believe there still is any time table for his return.

I had heard that he would be back 3 months from now that they were shooting for more of a before all star break comeback rather than before new years closer to February... which would give him more time to heal and get back into the groove of playing

damn guys this thread is not good for fan moral and to me just looks like everyone is kinda feeding of each others fear here. Lets get the fact and reconsider them. Greg went to go get a second opinion on an injury so the team could have a better answer for fans on Greg's return date. Lets calm down and detach ourselves a little from all the news around this team. If you do i think you will find this team is great and is no more unfortunate than a lot of others. And Dhawes i feel like the title of this thread is a little misleading maybe consider revising it.

Greg Oden is healthy and Blazers are just not playing him because we're looking to make an epic trade.....

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
