Guys, this is a pregame thread. Not a say who you want to win thread, seeing as how we are all on Blazers.com, LOL.

With that being said, my keys to the game are:

Sean Marks having a 20+ point game.
Sean Marks getting 10+ rebounds
L-TRAIN being aggressive and getting their bigs in foul trouble.

Can we vote as a group to remove a member? I am tired of Tiki talking about Sean Marks.. not to mention some other absurd comments that make me question his mental stability. Not saying I would not love to see Marksy Marks pull down 10 boards and 20 points, but lets be realistic. Tiki threw Sean's name in the MVP hat earlier..

We just played a game last night and went on the road... This is going to be one tough game. Not to mention, we're playing the LA Lakers defending champions and undefeated this season so far.

PS: Crim, this is a pregame thread, not a bash on hardcore Blazer fan thread. If you don't have anything nice to say, keep it off these forums because we (the community) are trying to make this a positive place to be and communicate with other fellow Blazer fans. We just don't need your negative attitude. Like my mom always said "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all." Besides, I don't think I'm alone when I say we don't need your posts clogging up the Blazer forums.

Back to what I was saying. This Laker team is as deep as it was in the 99 ~ 00 season with Shaq, Fox, Kobe, Fisher etc. They have almost the same team just with different names. Not to mention Blake is with them now... Talk about friendly fire incoming.

This will be their hardest game of the quarter season. LETS GO BLAZERS.

PS- I hope Roy has a breakout 40 point game, I'm waiting for it!!!!!

Keys to winning: Getting out of the gate fast and not allowing the Lakers to put us in an early hole...blocking out on rebounds to reduce the second chance points...and good shot selection. Remember, these guys ARE the champions and if we beat them on the road it sure would be a great confidence builder for the rest of the season. There is no excuse for the Blazers to not bring a full 48 tonight...we are young and should be able to attack all night and for all four quarters even on a back to back.

beat la beat la  the keys to the game is not backing down and letting la intimidate.  stop kobe and pau gasol and rebound make free throws and not la take you out of the game in being able to shoot and score...

We need to crash the boards, allow few second chance points if any, shoot good percentage shots by looking for the open man, drive and draw, get in thier jockstrap (not literally of course) and play good team ball. Go Blazers, staple the Lakers to the floor.

Or can we vote on the amount of arrogance that is displayed when comments are made like " F@$# Los Angeles Portland is the true western conference champions!"
I mean criticize me all you want, at least i have a realistic grasp on the NBA and what it is today. Most of you guys are living in the past, think things are so easy, that just by making erroneous statements after horrible predictions is going to make the team magically come back.
This team needs to Adapt, darwinisim, improvise, e ching, all that kind oh stuff. 

Its easy to come on here and repeatedly type " GO blazers, BEAT LA BEAT LA BEAT LA"
But its difficult to admit when your team is outmatched, its harder to acknowledge that theyre not the best team in the league.

- Hands up in the paint on defense
don't let the Lakers sneak any easy passes in their triangle offense

- 3 point shooting a must
Lakers really sag back and clog the paint on defense

- Fast break points
Did good against the Raptors, keep up a good pace and get the Lakers winded

Must be collectively focused at both ends, taking no plays off.  Must stay in attack mode from tip to buzzer, limiting jumpshots.  Limit TOs and outrebound the Lakers.  Make Blake play North/South defense.  Go Blazers!

Yeah this game is ridiculous, the Blazers are going to need more than just Good luck and encouraging internet comments to get by this season.
So they had a hot start......what does that prove? Nothing, they won 5 games.....out of 82. Already making predictions of who the most impressive player is going to be, who the PG of the future is going to be, i mean all that is ridiculous. 
This team has demonstrated in this first half, that those 5 wins, were lucky. Portland comes out tonight, against a real tough team, the Lakers, and what do they have to show coming off those 5 wins, uhh NOTHING.....
You have each player taking horrible shots, Andre miller is the leading scorer with 10 points, half of which he should NOT of made. You got Aldridge sitting down low, posting up Gasol? Like in your 5 years in the league LaMarcus when has that decision worked out for you? Batum damn near threw a 3 out on to Figueroa St. Miller putting up a 3 at the close, instead of driving it in and drawing contact. Someone mentioned earlier, "they double lamarcus like an allstar but why isnt he one?"
They double aldridge because they know he will still try to take a ridic shot with two guys on him.

They are making these school yard mistakes.  
Armon letting the ball get knocked away from behind, Batum letting Character block him like that, when Nic knows he could of powered through that for the hoop and the hard.
There is no Answer for Pau Gasol, and instead of switching defenders to try and find a weakness, he leaves Aldridge on him, so Aldridge is now prone to making rookie mistakes against Pau, which he did, bad fouls. They are letting Kobe walk all over the court, allowing him to pick and choose his shots. If they could play D and draw an offensive foul against Kobe, well thats the best way to neutralize him, seen that in the past.
"Andre Miller is the only blazer in a groove right now" was what an announcer said. Thats because Andre isnt letting anyone else take horrible shots, He's taking center stage on that role by throwing up another 3?
There have been hardly any smart passes, hardly any smart shots, hardly any defense, i mean what is this?

Brandon Roy had what, 2 points the first half? Aldridge had 8?
When your leading scorers are, well, not scoring, then other players need to step up and score, not just one.
But how can that be done, when Nate doesn't play anyone off the bench, and second, the bench isnt that productive in the first place?

Perhaps i am oblivious to the Blazer Game plan, but i sure as heck know that their plan did not include winning and playing like that.

Well put. I do think you missed 1 key point.

When our team All-star and leading scorer is getting defended against the best defender in the league, expect him to be shut down. Not only is Roy getting thrashed on the offensive end, but also the defensive end. Roy is getting posted up by Artest... You don't understand. Artest IS DOING WORK AGAINST ROY IN THE PAINT. THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.

What else? We have terrible ball movement....

If you have read my posts on this site, you'll notice that I'm not a fan of L-train, as I think his playing style is terrible against good teams. So TayC and I are realistic. We don't start threads saying 'L-TRAIN IS A BEAST! BLAH BLAH'. Pro-tip: L-Train sucks. Why would you use (as a primary move) a turn around fade-away. Again, why TayC is saying.. He's doing it against a 7 footer and its not working out, lol.

This is the part where Nate uses screen for D.C and Batum behind the arc, however, Nate wants LA to take low % shots, Roy to take shots where Artest is all over his body and to not double Pau... We're not even shutting down lanes. Of course Pau is going to hit a triple-double if we can pass, shoot and rebound uncontested

We're out sized, out coached and getting emotionally molested.

How we can win: Unleash Sean Marks.

thats just it. when r the blazers going to toughen up and play a big game to win and not to lose. theyre playing like a bunch of pussies out there, getting theyre asses whipped on the boards and playing tentitive on offense (what 2 fast break pts all fricking game). Same old soft Blazers.

Why did we let the Lakers sign Blake ?? ( still <3 AJ, but he is a rookie )
Roy and LA play to many minutes for the depth we have.
The Blazers seem to know NO offense other than Roy and LA.
When do we get a big man ?  Seriously ??
The Blazers only contend for rings IF healthy. Quit hitting the snooze button front office.  4th year ??

Ouch! Tonights game was a rude awakening to what can become of this season if the team doesn't wake up soon. Let's hope management has something more in mind to save us other then just relying on Joel's return.

first: Lakers are so strong or Blazers are so weak ? somebody can answer, it is important to win matches with poor teams but real value of the team is play with the best of teams like LA !!!

I don't agree, everyone can write what he thinks, not all but sometimes I am reading Tayc's and the Tiki's posts and sometimes they are really stupid (sorry) but when they say that the are PTB fans I respect this.

Yes it is easy but I think it is important to write also some simple words to support our BLAZERS !!! 

I hope that We all forget this awful match and see Blazers winning next game, and something else I did't see match but I think when ROY and LMA are playing so poor, bench players should get more minutes !
