Deep breath... whew, I'm still on edge from last nights nail-biter.

On to tomorrow! It's time for our guys to get back on their feet after the tough OT loss to Durant and Co. Protecting home court is a MUST.

The 1-3 Raptors are facing off with the Lakers tonight and then roll up to the Rose City tomorrow. We're catching them on game 2 of a back-to-back, with a game 1 beating expected from the Lake show.

What are your keys to tomorrows match-up? Will our rookies get some time? Or will we stick to an 8-man rotation similar to OKC? I'm hoping we break it open enough to give our starters some rest before our trip down to LA.

    Thoughts?

UPDATE: The Raptors only lost by 5 tonight in LA! 108-103 final. I'm speechless.

I like Julian Wright for toronto, and eager to see him and Batum go at it.
But really this Toronto team doesnt have much of anything that could really threaten this team. I would say Barbosa because of his speed and known ability to score, but i am going to give Roy and Matthews the benefit of the doubt and say that they CAN guard him.
    Please dont prove me wrong.

You're still on edge? I got mine out early after last night's game. I had some muscle spasms and I might've murmured some bad words, but luckily nobody was around to see or hear that, so everything's cool. No biggy, lot's of close games left to contend with. I'll be fine, thanx fer worrying.

First game I get to go to this season!!!! All I can say is: it's gonna be a W. LMA has to get more than 4 rebounds in 45 minutes for that to happen though.

Rudy's out and Camby's questionable. Looks like we'll see a lot more Dante and Runny Babbitt could make his home debut tonight. Who do we start? Batum at the 4..Wesley at the 3? Or does Dante start at the 4? Really wish Przy was playing tonight. Good thing the Raps are soft inside and shouldn't take advantage of our misfortunes.

I dunno D,  I'm a bit worried after their performance last night. It could be a confidence booster for the Raptor Republic...

LMA 5, INFERNO 4, BATMAN 3. I would love to see Dante get a start, hes been working hard for us.

I just hope we don't slow the game down like we did in the 2nd half. I'm still pretty baffled why we didn't keep pushing tempo. The Thunder were on the 2nd half of a b-2-b and by us going 1-on-1 it helped OKC conserve energy.

Going to have to dig deep and get a solid effort from every player tonight.

I like DC starting at the 4 or the 3, I think having Wes and Armon (the 1-2 Punch) in that bench unit changes up the tempo and adds that lock-down D. I know the Raptors aren't that deep so I see our second unit taking  advantage of that.

LA needs to hit the glass HARD as well as Batum, with no Camby the team needs to make-up for his presence in the front court. I just want 100% effort the whole game, this team still hasen't learned how to lock it down and really finish teams off like other elite teams in the league.

A few less minutes for LA,Roy,Camby and Miller for the Lakers tomorrow.  Our bench can beat the Raptors.

Until Sean Marks gets involved, I see Luke Babbitt being a factor off the bench.
Let's go Nate, put the rookies in!
Time to send the Raptors back to the Triassic

Well, we tried to give it away in the 3rd quarter, but luckily we were playing the Raps. We need to develop that killer instinct and not let up when we have an opponent down. This is the NBA and any team can beat any team on any given night.

    Pros-
Camby was everywhere tonight. 16 boards while dealing with migraines? He's turning into our most important player.

Dre- 13 dimes? Ballin' outta control tonight. He played smart and took what the defense gave him. Did't force any jumper offensively

Roy's shot is back and he played without the ball pretty well

Batum had a great offensive night. I still maintain we are at our best when we get him involved in the offense.

Patty & Luke playing at home for the first time this year.

    Cons-
The highs and lows of a rookie. AJ got really reckless and careless with the ball and turned it over seemingly 4-5 times in a row. It's to be expected from the rook, but we have just got to hope he bounces back next game.

3 point shooting from players not named Batum. With Rudy out, we don't really have a reliable threat from downtown. Luke obviously showed he has the skills, but will he get enough time to do enough damage?

Overall, we are 5-2, But I can't help but feel like we should be 7-0. I still think we are doing well without Joel and Greg and as long as we continue to just keep chugging along, we could be in really good shape once we get our rotational guys back healthy.

Just briefly - It was nice to see 3 guys with 20 or more points and gotta love the 13 dimes from Dre as you pointed out DH.  Yes, those two losses seem like they could have been avoided, but hey, let's hope we improve what we didn't do in those games. Yeah, I think we are doing well without the big guys, as unfortunately have gotten used to it - yes, should be interesting to see how we adjust when they get back, though I can't but hope it makes us stronger, rather than throw us off in some way. Either way, I think we will feel safer with that extra option.

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
