I noticed that when Portland goes with no PG they tend to have problems scoring.  They take 3's or just difficult jump shots.  I think that if this no PG offense is going to go on they as in Roy and Mathews need to do a better job iniciating the offense.  So we aren't scrambling at the end of the shot clock and hoisting contested jumpers or long 3's

Look, when the refs are against you in a close game, it's pretty hard to when.  I dare you to play the minutes they did, sacrifice your body(without getting calls), and still blame it on the PG position.

I agree. There was a moment in the 2nd half where I commented to my friend that it was obvious we didn't have a true PG on the court because the offense seemed to have stalled. Miller came in a couple of minutes later. I think that lineup will have it's moments where it is really successful, but last night wasn't one of them.

I agree also. When we had a PG out there, we were getting looks in the paint and going to the basket, but later on, as Kristin put it, our offense stalled and we were forcing jump shots at the end of the clock.

The refs were pretty good that game. A few terrible calls but nothing to blame an entire game on. There is a video I found online, I'll try to post it on this reply, let me find it.

    <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value=" http://www.youtube.com/v/xCWi_oP3_Os?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xCWi_oP3_Os?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Amazing video on why we lost the game. It shows our shot selection, our mistakes... Basically this is why we lost. A very good video. If the video does NOT post, the link is right here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCWi_oP3_Os&feature=player_embedded

maybe the worst thing i saw, officiating wise, was a Push from durant to batum, it got nothing, but man the fans almost drew a technical themselves, it got so upsetting in there hhaha.
And then there was one bad call against westbrook down at portlands basket, but agree nothing to blame an entire game on, good point.

Hahaha wow, it's one thing when players don't talk about the officials, because they'll get fined, but a total different thing when fans don't speak out.  I'm sure everyone has seen Lebron travel and not get a call. Durant also travelled in the game and it didn't get called, he's become the money maker of nba so I'm sure he'll get more calls. Why else would OKC get 15 nationally televised games? Last year they only had 2. We don't need a point guard we need our centers back.  Andre is probably the best thing to happen to the Blazers, and Armon is getting better every game.  All we really need is our centers back, once we have that, our offensive rebounding will go back up to number one, without a doubt, like it used to be. Also, one bad call can turn the tide of a close game so don't try to give me sour grapes(mod-edit-watch the language please!)about it.

Okay buddy. Let's calm down... Uh... calm down. Nobody is giving you (mod-edit-watch the language please!), we're just not viewing it the same way. I don't think you can blame refs on 4 scoreless minute in OT, especially when we were taking nothing but jump-shots. We missed shots, we took bad shots we missed clutch rebounds, we gave them an "AND-1" in OT and we missed a clutch free-throw. Sure 1 ~ 3 posessions can change a game but you can't have that mentality as a player, coach or fan or else you get players getting technical fouls left and right with the new rules. Besides, I thought we got away with some foul-block shots that game also so it did go both ways.

I don't think we will be number 1 in the NBA with offensive rebounds (let alone the west). Our bigs need to take it easy. Don't expect any sky-high jumps till the playoffs from them. Getting re-injured could mean the end of a career for Oden or Przy.

To get to your 'Armon Johnson is getting better every game', yeah, but it is going to be a couple years till we really see him kick into action. 2 at the very least.

You the funny part of us getting away with some foul-block shots, they also called some that weren't fouls to make up for them.  I have a feeling the Joel, if not oden, well be playing some hard minutes even if it's only a couple, until he feels comfortable.  I honestly don't think we are contenders, unless we are healthy. I know the players can't think that way and neither can coachs, but as fans of, what seems to be the most hated team in the nba, we should at least point out the giving player the star treatment is unfair.  Every time I watch a nationally televised game they talk more about the other team instead of the blazers, what's up with that? I'm sure everyone who watches highlights on sportscenter and nba tv can back me up when I say, Portland gets less than 30 seconds of highlight even when they've done some really good things.  On the other hand some below .500 will get more than that.  Portland has the best fans in the nba, yet we get shown the least love by the media. Armon is someone we can wait for, as long as portland doesn't trade him, he'll help us a lot. Blazers aren't going to win a championship in the next two years anyways, so I don't really see a problem.  I would Love to be proven wrong about the championship, but as much as I hate saying this lakers will go to the nba finals again.

We're not championship contenders. We need a healthy big man that can dominate. Look at every championship team... Shaq... Dwight... Pau... KG (dominate inside force). We don't have that. I do think we can make it past the 1st round though.

There's a HUGE difference in ball movement and player movement when Andre, and even Armon, is on the floor. I think that is experience though. If Nate is committed to utilizing Roy, Matthews, or Rudy at the 1, we should expect to see it get better, simply through use. I don't think it should be our 2nd option though, and should only be used in certain match-ups. The biggest problem is that when Roy steps into that spot (he seems the most comfortable of the three there), HE quits contributing, and that impacts the rest of the offense. As with all new things, it takes practice. I honestly think this is an idea that Coach Nate is going to abandon eventually (except in those rare instances in the 4th when the matchups indicate it being the advantage).

By best fans I meant, most supportive, Also Trail Blazers are probably the most interesting team to watch.  Portland can make a comeback from being down 10 points to leading by 10. They are a team you can never count out of a game, we have a 3 time allstar and two other potential allstar in Lamarcus and Oden(If healty).  How many sell outs games have the Blazers had? How many people waited in line for hours during fan fest? How many people cheer until they lose their voice, when a trail blazer does some crazy dunk or takes and makes a difficult shot? If people want to watch allstars play, we'll get that. If they want to watch an interest game, we can provided that on a lot of nights.  I don't really care about what the rest of the world thinks about the blazers, but nationally I think we've proven ourselves as a team to watch out for, but it's sad how people on watch us for a few seconds on tv, and most of our games start at 10:30 for people in the east.

Also Trail Blazers are probably the most interesting team to watch
    there it is again.
With teams like Boston, Los Angles, Orlando, and now Miami, they have champions on there team, they are what people want to see. People want to see the best of the best play against the best, and frankly is very far from being the best. This team has Brandon Roy, a very high rated SG, currently the face of the team, the leader on and off the court. Thats one guy, thats a lonley superstar, why would everyone around the country turn to TnT to watch one superstar, when they could watch a game like LAL v MIA.
I mean be serious with me,  you have a team, that has been a total upset the past 2-3 years, where is the incentive.
The injuries with Oden, and Joel.
LaMarcus trying to do everything and make up for those two.
Drafting countless rookies, or aquiring players with little to no experience.
The same lame plays at the Buzzer. I mean the games are almost predictable.

And as far as "the fans" go, perhaps you should go to a Laker game, or fly down to Miami and just look outside the building(you wanna talk about sell outs, MIA ran out of tickets for the season in just 2 DAYS!!) I mean obviously THATS what people want to see. Or try the Thunder making the playoffs for the first time last year, EVERY PERSON WAS WEARING BLUE!! Alot of teams are like that. Heck go to a good movie and listen for the applause afterwards hahah.
Portland needs to do something BIG, something that they can get noticed for, like winning games,
But they cant do that because their upper management cant get their heads out of their.....
So untill this team can keep a center healthy for a year, build a bench, and win some games whether it be a total blowout or in dramatic fashion.

Portland needs to stick with their players and not trade them every season. As for doing something big, why does it have to be the management? Why not have Lamarcus and or Roy play in the 2012 Olympics? It would help them gain some national recognition. If Lamarcus can get into the allstar game, that would help out a lot as well. I really think Lamarcus should be an allstar, he gets doubled by most teams like an allstar. When you're in the west it's hard to get into the playoffs and in the allstar games. This is Lamarcus' last year to prove he's an allstar,in my opinion.

But, one thing that I don't get is, why P. Allen can't afford another big player...I wouldn't mind a big three of our own with CP3, Melo, and Roy. If that's what it takes to hog the media's attention.

If thats what it takes to get on ESPN then leave me out.  Yeah I get tired of watching an hour of sportscenter just to see 30 seconds of Portland winning and 5 minutes on Nets, or Clippers getting it handed to them.  However I don't care what 90% of people say about us anyways.  When I was in highschool I wrestled in my senior year.  First and only year and Was seated #1 in my district #5 for state.  I was not able to participate in state because I seperated my shoulder, however,  I was able to get seated that high because all the wrestlers I competed against never saw me as a threat, or for how good I had become so it took them by surprise.  I didn't get interviewed by the paper, like a player I pinned in the 1st round did,  I went out there and put everything I had on the mat and nobody asked me how I did it or how I became as good as I was.  I was humble anyways yet I was able to take advantage of nobody knowing my strengths or weaknesses.

Blazers need to go into a city with fans of the other team not knowing what to expect and catch everybody off guard.  We dont need spotlight to make our game heard as long as Oregon hears it, I'm happy

Yeah, but you can't deny that Portland, mentioned above(I think), is predictable.  Everyone knows Roy is going to take the last shot of the game, which isn't always good because of the minutes he plays. I would like to see that get spilt between him and Lamarcus or other starters, just so teams have to guess.  It would also help if Batum became really aggressive on the offensive end. I know some things are easier said than done. I really thought about it, and if Portland stays aggressive and doesn't let the other teams take easy shots, or pick up boards, what the refs say won't matter.  Portland also needs to do a better job of keeping the lead and not slowing down. On thing I really like  about the Ducks is, they don't stop attacking even when they have the lead, something Portland needs to do more. Completely off topic, but who'd you wrestle for?

@ fallen, when you joined wrestling, was it to get your face in the paper, or did you just like to wrestle?
Take that and apply it to this team with basketball.

I hear alot of how so many people on here, hate the mainstream.
They hate the Lakers, because theyre too wealthy and too good.
They dislike Boston, because of the big 3, now big 3 tiny 1(rondo).
Kevin Durant because he makes his own Posters every night, featuring someone new.

I also hear complaints, about how portland is never on the map.
They whine about how their team is soo good, and their players are so much better than others.

Well here is what i SEE and SAY:
If portland's players were "soo good" then Brandon would not be the only all star.
If the team was as good as its hyped up to be on here, they would of at least made it to the finals, not first round.
The fans know EXACTLY what makes headlines, Big 3, top 10 plays,WINS, but they refuse to fall into the mix of getting theyre own "Big3" or "superstar"
Well IF you want to media attention that is desired by so many of you, then you must be willing to sacrifice some of the things that makes this team, independent, a little TOO independent.

I think its natural for fans to think that their team is the best. Regardless of the facts behind it. No need to knock people down for having love for their team, regardless of if you think its being blind or not. I consider myself a pretty rational person, but when it comes to the Blazers some of my common sense goes out the window. I believe that the championship "magic" is out there and someday it's coming to Portland. Believing every moment until then will make it that much sweeter when it gets here. (By magic I don't mean thats the reason teams win, I mean the feeling that fans get when their team is successful.)

    Disagree.

I've been a KC Chief fan after their domination era in the ~90's.

From 2000 ~ 2009, I have always known they were terrible. Even their 11-0 start in 2007 (I might be wrong), I knew they would get knocked 1st round.

    IMO;

Fandom is often irrational and unexplainable if you're an idiot.

You know why you like a team, you know why you want them to win, you have the answers. If you're a Blazer fan and you DON'T KNOW WHY, you're not a very good fan. For example, I'm a fan because I was born here, raised here, grew up here, I'm a big man (6-5), grew up with respect for the game, watched the 1999 ~ 00' Trail Blazers lose to the refs. I'm a fan because I want to experience the revenge and watch my home team win. I'm a chiefs fan because they were the first football team I ever watched (a full game) and my great grandma was a fan, my last moments with her was watching a chiefs game. My point is, everybody has a reason why they love the team they love, it is very explainable and very rational. Even if you say 'well I don't know why I love X team but I do' then you need to stop kidding yourself and realize you're a poser.

But to the girl who I quoted, your post was great, just this last part irked me.
