    Via Oregon Live-
When Trail Blazers veteran Marcus Camby heard how rookie Armon Johnson spent the night leading up to Tuesday’s game against Milwaukee, he shook his head in approval.

“Yet another plus under his hat,’’ Camby said.

If Blazers fans this early season have found themselves falling in love with this eager and gregarious rookie, they need to get in line. The Blazers players, right down to the veterans, continue to be impressed.

From late-night sessions in the gym to late-night conversations in the hotel rooms of  veterans, Johnson continues to show that he is more than just a compelling story about a kid who makes good after being drafted in the second round.

Johnson, it is becoming more and more clear, could be something special.

It is becoming harder and harder for coach Nate McMillan and the teams veterans not to beam about the left-hander drafted out of Nevada with the 34th overall pick.

Johnson on Tuesday continued his steady climb in the rotation with another solid performance, this time a 10-point, five-assist, one-turnover performance in 22 key minutes during the Blazers’ 90-76 win at Milwaukee.

I couldn't believe that when I heard about it. Two guys getting in way past midnight, yet still have the drive and work ethic to improve? I can understand Wesley, because he is back home and those are his roots. He said he was trying to work out the kins to a slow start. But for AJ to go along because he wants to put in the work too? That's special. Although he's already one of my favorites on the team, I'm not ready to declare AJ our "PGOTF" (If you don't know, you'd better ask somebody).....yet. I do love his progress and think he could be a nice contributor off the bench in his rookie year.

I think it is great how he is playing. The only thing I'm afraid of is Nate pulling Batum to start Johnson!!!!
But seriously, that was a great game. He will have those as well as not so great, so I am not getting too excited yet. If he is doing this every day and it is February, then I will be real excited. I just hope Nate handles this well throughout the year.

Batum, Mathews, Johnson= lockdown guarding and hidden offensive talent 48mins a game, every game.  I just hope as they get older they can keep their D super consistent, because sometimes it feels like they forget to be great stoppers on a few plays.  But seriously if we had a bench of Mathews, Pryz, Camby, Armon and Fernandez or Cunningham (Camby as PF) you have a crazy defensive bench unit and god willing if Oden shows up when he comes back we could also have some great D with him on the inside and Batum on the outside, who knows maybe even Roy and Alderidge will keep up the great stops we saw in Milwaukee and you know Dre is gonna get at least 1 steal.  I LOVE hyping up our roster! Its just so easy to with this set of guys, too much good stuff.
I am a fan of a team who values integrity and shows great heart.

Well it all depends on what you use that cap space for doesn''t it sign Tony Allen and now your Batum for Dunleavy trade just became Batum for Dunleavy and Tony Allen and starts looking a lot better

^ True that, and well said.   There will be offers made for LA...likely many.   Will any of them benefit this team is going to be the question.

With a track record like that any reasonable fan is going to question the approach taken by management I just happen to know somethings and be very opinionated

Larry Sanders is not huge nor is Serge Ibaka. Noel will add muscle on his frame because all NBA players do plus his body fat is around 5% so he can bulk up some. If he can get up to around 230 he will be fine playing center in the NBA otherwise he...
