One of the most important players on this team. I gotta admit at first I wasn't sold on him, but he has won me over. Yea, everyone wants a Chris Paul type PG who can go out and get 25 and 10 a night, but in reality how many of those guys are out there? And especially how many are readily available for trade? None. Andre provides a veteran guy bringing the ball down who is able to run the offense efficiently and makes good decisions. He's obviously not the quickest or the best shooter, but the leadership and poise he provides can't go without being noticed. A trade for someone like Hedo as the other thread stated is ridiculous. You can have Hedo's disappearing act, but I'll take the consistent and well traveled, smart PG that does all the little things right. I support the old man at PG. Andre has won me over, and I look forward to him leading us to a great season!

I was a fan of his from his clipper and cleveland days and when he killed us when he was with philly i was so excited when i heard he was going to be  a Blazer, to me he just rock steady he just seems to make the right play when we need it I know that elite point guard are a dime a dozen but only a few have a point guard that can run a team like Andre so Texanblazer you are not the only fan of Andre.

I am a a super Mike Barrett fan and a notorious homer. I post continuously on his blog and have often debated with a lovable downtownvinnie on the importance of Dre, our debate wasn't of the who is the best point guard but whether or not he should be a starter along side of BRoy or coming off the bench to give the second unit a lift. In this new year, I too have been won over by him.

I read continuously, about his lack of outside shooting and LMA's lack of inside shooting; to compromise I suggest we make a trade of roles, let Dre be the inside player and post up player and let LMA be the outside shooter.  Dre can draw the defense into him and kick it out to Aldridge for his famous jump shot and his new found 3 pt shot LOL.

Yes, I think Dre is becoming a very solid keeper, too bad he didn't get him earlier in his career.

its not that i want a PG who puts up those kind of numbers but i would like one who can efficiently score, and preferably one who has a jump shot and an explosive first step.

Andre is a baller. I also really liked what he said in the postgame of teh Clippers game about telling Lamarcus to not get down and he's still looking for him to come up big.
Loved him posting up in that game too.

i watched the clippers game twice and i really loved what Andre did throughout the game. He occasionally made a few mistakes here and there. From what i can remember he played solid defense against Baron Davis. I remember a great transition pass to Nic for an easy basket. I remember a lob to camby. I remember him getting some steals at timely moments in the game. I DONT remember him making any silly passes to teammates whereas i can't say that about BRoy, Rudy, Wesley and Armon.

My favorite part about his game wednesday night, was that when the clippers were making small runs, he could take the ball down the court and counter either by driving into the paint, doin some up and under head fakes and hitting high percentage shots, or simply by hitting the open man with the hot hand (usually nic, brandon, or lamarcus on this night). This kept the game within reach at all times. I can't stand it when players drive to the basket, and find that nothing is there; and then they make a terrible pass that results in a breakaway for the other team. (ahem.. bayless). I think you can count on Miller and Camby to bring consistent numbers to every game. Wins and Losses will depend on how hot Brandon, Nic, and Lamarcus are as a group each night.

    Dre is a baller.

I like how he leads us to the playoffs and seals our fate of being bounced out in the first round again......because we have a pg who can't hit a barn from 15 feet away from the rim.  Hes great in the regular season, but kind of easy to prepare for in a 7 game series.  When the other team just clogs the middle and shuts him down.

Great game in game 1 of the playoffs then Phx adjusted and shut him down for the next 5.

Hold up? A.I.? You wanna talk about A.I.? The former MVP now arthritic A.I.?

Miller isn't the perfect fit but he gets the job done. Only trade him if we can get an immediate upgrade from him, someone who can distribute the ball as effectively without causing as much turnovers as he does. Only a few come to mind that aren't untouchable one of them being Kirk Hinrich.

And boy is he unhappy in WASH. just looking at his facial expressions last night, hahaha, he is so frustrated.
He plays good, no, great, when he's on a team he likes.
But dont trry to hate on AI, the guy could play with a Walker and still break ankles, and you cant argue with a guy who averages 30 a game in the playoffs.

He may not always be able to nail the open jump shot, but he keeps this offense from going stagnate when Roy tries likens himself to Joe Johnson and Lebron's Isomotion garbage. He's not who I'd have playing a majority of minutes in 4th quarter, but he controls the tempo, makes great decisions, and knows when to defer.

Didn't Andre play pretty much the whole fourth quarter in both games when we pulled away? I'm pretty sure he played the whole 4th in the last game.

That's understandable, but you can't just overlook the leadership, poise, and experience he brings. A.I. would bring the experience, but definitely not the leadership you want. I think bringing A.I. or someone like him would be more of a problem than a solution as he has shown as of late that his teams, for whatever reason, are not successful. I liked Bayless, but am not a fan of the other PG's on the roster (Hated Blake BTW) and am very concerned about the PG position after Andre leaves. We need to be looking for a long-term solution other than Patty Mills, and Armon Johnson. But right now the team is running great together, and looks like they could make a great run this year.

And I honestly just became a Blazers fan a few years back. I'm a Baylor Student, but have always loved LA's (from UT) game. Mix him with Brandon Roy, who is my favorite NBA player, and a team rich in history and with a great fan base and I found something I really liked. I'm hoping for a great season or for a horrible one so that we can get in on my man Perry Jones here at BU. Kid is ridiculous.

All 30 NBA teams passed on AI. He even said he would take on any role, even off the bench this time. But maybe he should have said that last year and maybe he shouldn't have acted like such a jackass the last couple of years. I mean he screwed over his last 2 or 3 teams and the whole time he kept trying to sell himself as only a starter. AI is only a distraction now and has been for at least a year. He would be Jerryd Bayless with a sense of entitlement and screw up our chemistry, never pass and then not take practice seriously. I don't know why anyone with a brain would want AI here, especially to start! Unless the only thing you think is great in the game is a crossover.

BTW I hated Blake too. He will do good on the Lakers though because at least Phil knows he is a backup.

Hate Hate Hatin on my man A.I. probably the most respected player amongst his peers, skill wise for sure.
But honestly tom, does AI really not pass? Because you shoot me down every time i suggest him.
Look at his stats though, you would find out youre totally ..... you know its coming....Wrong.
The last time AI was on a decent team, and in my opinion it was Denver, a team that he might of seen going somewhere(like portland, huh yeah maybe?)he passed the ball, alot.
As a matter a fact, Iverson passed more his first year with Denver than Andre did with portland. Now the reason i push AI across the table each time, is because HE CAN SCORE! Totally know that its not JUST about scoring, but as you all know, someone who scores that well/easy helps their team get noticed, IE your villian Kevin Durant.  its obviously apparent that the only aspect you see in his game is a crossover, because thats youre only counter argument, i mean you say he doesnt pass, but he does, so as they say on here, "that point is moot". haha.

And i just cant see how someone could honestly think that a player would still be a selfish, ball hogging, anti teamate, even after he had stated that he would take any position, even come off the bench, that right there should tell you that he doesnt think he is a practice skippin superstar anymore, the spotlight left AI a long time ago, and if he ever wants to come back to it, he'll have to find a team that will take him, and a team that will win.

Because that's all he's done his whole career!! But it is even worse than that. After pretty much saying the same thing last year (he would accept any role) the Grizz took him up on the offer. Well we know how that ended. Then the Sixers went out of their way to have him play there and... we all know what happened there too.
