Seriously. I'm hopeful they can beat up on Yao, shock Kobe, and make it all the way to a game 7 OT victory against the Cavs. Just like I was hopeful that Obama would shock Hillary then beat McCain. But who the hell knows. Yes We Can or Maybe We Won't?
I am a fan of yes we can.

I think a first round win is likely but not a given. We're talking like a 60% chance here. The key is to sweep the first two games, I don't want the team to have to win in Houston at all. I'm guessing Portland in 5, but it could easily be Portland in 7 or even Houston in 6.

In the second round the assumed opponent is the Lakers, and I think it's like a 25% chance at best to beat them. They have home court, and they are just as strong against us in LA as we are against them in Portland. Most likely, LA in 6 or 7.

Remember, at the start of the year the goal was simply to make the playoffs. This team is always ahead of its schedule. Next year I think we're division champs, top 2 seed, and make the Western Conference Finals. But not this year. This year I'm already happy and can say we've had a successful season, and a playoff series victory would be the icing on the cake. Everything after that would be house money.

If the play like they did to night (as in not at all) they are not going anywhere. First half we had no answer for Yao, and then even when he sat we had lost all confidence and let the Rockets do whatever they wanted. I still feel like we have a chance though, despite this absolutely miserable game. They just have to come ready to play and not deflate at the first challenge.

I agree! What happened at the RG tonight?! Disappointing.
We have Tuesday @ home to look ahead to now though.

we only shot 8 free throws thru 3 quarters.........did anyone else see the terrible oficiating. i know the playoffs are rougher, but giving one team free reign to foul, and calling everything on the other end doesnt seem like good basketball. david stern was at the damn game, he should fire these jokers before they pollute the minds of other refs. given we did give up after the calls didnt go our way (which is hard not to do)

    i hate this life
everything you worked so hard for
in the end, you feel trashed and feeling like crap
it doesnt even matter how hard you try or how far you push yourself
because in life, it all turns and runs away
your dreams and success goes down the drain
it all falls apart and you lose it all

the blazers had great success this season
    its either finals or bust
the way the blazers has been playing
it shouldnt end now, not like this
its not right to see your success fail right before your eyes

i made a bet with someone $10 that blazers will make the finals
I am a fan of the team, playing together and winning together

I think this will be a good learning experience for the team. We need to fight and take charge every possession and play with 110% intensity. It's time to show the world what Blazer Basketball is all about!

I can sit here and think about all the matchups and how we could even be a serious threat to the team that wins the eastern conference finals, but we just have to continue doing it how we've been doing it, one game at a time.

Portland will be a great team for many years to come! We are still ahead of schedule!

    Go Blazers!

Potential out weighs them all are you serious OJ Mayo has more potential than Batum, then you add in what Landry and Barnes provide plus whatever 2 first round picks offer and it is not even close.

Cmeese, actually Nico is kinda aggressive. He is always arguing with the refs. Not in his play though.

You guys know how I feel about that. Thompson would be great, but not for LMA. Your deal is actually pretty solid and has a decent chance of happening compared to others, but Olshey has said LMA ain''t going  anywhere.

Wow some serious high hopes for JJ there.

@Cailin Isn''t a little ironic that the Heat are on pace to win a second straight NBA title despite being the worst rebounding team statistically in the NBA this season.

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.
