    Via Reno Gazette-Journal-
But it was Johnson's defensive quickness and play-making ability that got him on the floor. The writing was on the wall, too, when the Blazers traded Jerryd Bayless last week, indicating that they were ready to let Johnson be their No. 2 point behind veteran Andre Miller.

"I'm not surprised (to see Johnson have such a big impact early)," Wolf Pack coach David Carter said Wednesday. "I think both of them will make an impact. I told both young men before they went to camp, 'It's a long season. ... Just hang in there because it's a long season. You may not play as many minutes as you like.'"

Johnson is incapable of hiding his emotions. His face gives him away. There were times at Nevada when miscommunication or a poor series of plays left Johnson with a look of frustrated bewilderment, as if someone had just let the air out of his bike tire and ran off. Every player feels that way from time to time. With Johnson, it was just more expressive.

More often we saw his infectious and utterly joyous smile.

Crazy to think how the least heralded of our rookies is the one seeing time on the court! He had a rough night last night, but that's to be expected for a rookie, especially on his first NBA back to back. He'll have his highs and lows, but the real key will be whether or not he grows from those experiences, which I don't think he'll have a problem with given his incredible work ethic.

My crush AJ is a rookie, he will have rough spells.  He has to take his lumps just like everyone else.
AJ, is just getting started. All the media hype around him now makes me lol.

Armon is doing very well given most of the hype about rookies on this team hasn't been about him. He decided to go out there and show people how hard he works. I'm not saying this only because I am a fan, He really is showing that he has no fear. I'm excited to see how things work for him and the team!!
    Go Blazers!!

I have to say, I called this one a ways back.  I thought Armon would get floor time this season, in large part, because...as I put it, he reminds Nate of Nate-differentiating himself from the many other rookies that have found themselves pulling splinters from their behinds at seasons end.  Johnson possesses a very similar skill set to that of his coach.  His work ethic and on-court demeanor, very similar as well.  I would argue Armon has the more charming personality of the two though, and am confident Kim might agree :)

I agree on a younger, left handed version of Nate.  Havent met AJ YET, so I can't comment on his personality, other than I like what I see so far. Remember I am old enough to be AJ's mother in law.
Looks like my #1 jersey will be put to good use again :)

Not DPOY. All American. Player of the year in his conference twice. Past four years, McCollum, Muscala, McCollum, Muscala.

@RipCity I like the Nick Young/Randy Foye idea indeed, could be able to get Foye for 2mil per season

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
