If you have the option I am curious which station will you be watching the game on?  I like our local broadcasters however i would rather get the opinions of the National Commentators... your thoughts?

National commentators are usually hating on Portland and as much as people say the Mikes are homers (which most HOME TEAM announcers are fans of their team obviously) but they at least say when they get a call wrong and they are very good about being accurate more often than not.  I will switch back and forth to at least get some ESPN but not much.

I am like you Fallen_Deity except the other way around... mainly ESPN then switch over to Comcast... However you are right they are good at being accurate and i guess Ripcitysarah loves the Mikes as well...

I am thinking Comcast Sports Net is the way to watch. Keeping our options out there instead of allowing an ESPN monopoly happen!

I went with ESPN, I like to hear other commentators sometimes that aren't homers. It's nice to hear what they have to say about our team.

Well it was better last year watching on comcast because Rebecca Haarlow was there, actually just saw her tonight on the Clippers game, I thought she went to the Lakers. I guess I can think she is pretty again.  ha ha
Haven't seen the new courtside reporter yet.
I like listening to what Rice says, though sometimes he's crazy, I usually like hearing his thoughts.
Barrett gets over excited at times and says the wrong names often, but they are usually good.

I actually watched both. ESPN in real time game, then the replay on comcast ( another great thing fans without comcast miss )
The national media makes me sick with the gushing over OKC/Lakers and Heat.  Hubie at least is starting to figure it out, when he said watch out for the Blazers when Pryz and Oden come back.  The national media is so clueless focusing on Oden ..... All we need is big Pryz back !!

I too love Mike & Mike, but I like to hear what the haters are saying.  Give TP a chance Blazer fans, he is just getting started. I would still take him over a no brain barbie talking bball all day.

    Go Blazers !!!!

I heard that one of the espn announcers was saying "that new tech rule is unfair because a certain someone did the same exact thing the other day and wasn't given a T".

And who is being hard on TP? The first game I saw he seemed really over anxious and I'm sure he'll settle down. And I would take an intelligent barbie all day! talking bball! Just not if it will cost TP his job. They should have him sit with Mike and Mike.

I go with Comcast. Our team doesn't get the big media exposure so people don't what to talk about or they don't talk about us period. I don't mind Hubie he's pretty good most of the time.

The last few Blazer games I watched on ESPN I ended up turning back to Comcast because they we going on and on about the other team (not sure which team it was) side stories and all like a local broadcast would do and I couldn't stand it. I mean, they probably won't tell me something that I don't already know but they could show Portland a little more love.

"This guy brings blah blah blah to the team, *insert fancy graphic* blah blah blah." "Nice bucket from Brandon Roy."  "Back to my point about so and so..."

Tom,  they called the same T on Dre as they did on AJ, then on the Clips, so it did not seem unfair to me, at least last night. I had Roy to be the 1st Blazer go get nailed with one.
As long as they call it fair on both teams,  I can see where the arguing calls sets a bad example. Just play ball, let Nate take the T ....

On the MSP this morning they were talking about " fans " complaining about TP.
Imo, he does not have anything to worry about, unless I hear another " tell them what they won partner".

Remember Blazer fans, the national media will have feet in their mouths, when we beat LA,Dallas,OKC and Miami, let them be clueless. Every day Pryz is closer to returning !!!!

You noticed that too? I know every time they show the Lakers they act like it's their local home network, even on sportscenter. I like Rice but Barrett always cuts him off abruptly without apologizing and like I said earlier, he calls out the wrong names in anticipation of the calls all the time. But still, they are better than listening to the Lakers announcers on espn. Every once in a while they will have a segment on the Blazers though. Last year all they would talk about is our injury status. ha ha

Oh man I could not stand that guy "TELL THEM WHAT THEY WON PARTNER"!
Holton "uh A tough hard fought game". I bet Holton hated answering that question every day.
And TP was definitely funny because you could tell he has no experience and was really nervous. But not as nervous as Jerome Kersey was last year! ha ha. But I think those guys paid their dues and even if they suck at it they should still find something for them to do.

And it's not that they called it equally with us and the Clippers, I'm sure that they will not call it on Kobe or Lebron as much as everyone else. We'll see, because those guys complain more than anyone. I guarantee they won't be among the league leaders at any point throughout the year. And the problem I have with the rule is who cares if someone raises their arms or says "Hey! he hit my arm!" while he is still playing (like AJ and Andre did, and even Gordon) but if they actually stop playing to yell at the ref I don't have a problem with it and they should have been calling that long ago. The problem is we will get every variation of the rule but Kobe will only get it if he gets in the face of a ref. Michael Holton seems to think they will stop being so focused on it in a month but Stern just said yesterday that they are definitely enforcing this (though I'm sure selectively) throughout the year.

ESPN gets them better ratings while watching the blazers which means they might play them more in the future. but Mike and Mike are the greats!
