I was just impressed by the defense and rebounding. They only allowed 92 points on the suns!

Soft in the middle.  Joel, Greg...get well soon!  Oberto...thank you!  Perimeter D was noticeably better than that of last season.  Noticed a lack of weak side help (or any help for that matter) with the deep entries and dribble penetration.  in closing, if you are going to foul in the paint, don't allow the shot.  The new guy, just into town, gets it.

Blazer D shut that down no doubt. Looking at the box score im finding it hard to find someone who's going to step up to fill the missing STATs.
Hedo played horrible, Hill was in dream land, don't tell me your expecting Warrick to give you 10 a game... J Rich and Nash can't hold that team up every night.

Totally agree BR7_Fan!  To expand on your observation further, JRich and Nash very nearly beat this Blazer team by themselves...and in the Garden.  You are correct too in asserting the Suns will have difficulty winning games with just a "Big 2".  Thank you A'mare!

Nash isn't at his strength without the pick and roll. He's a good point guard even without a pick and roll partner, but he's a great point guard with it. Turkoglu is still trying to learn to be a PF for this system, and maybe eventually he'll figure it out but all through his career he's never been great in the pick and roll without the ball.

I was extremely impressed with our teamwork, and overall play on both ends of the floor,  esspecialy in the clutch. The immpresive play could just be because of the suns lack of an interior presence now that they don't have stoudamire, which is why I think the 4th, 5th and 6th games of the season(Chicago, Milwaukee, and Ok. City) will show us how good we really are.  Today though I was extremely immpresed with Mathews and armons determination and effort on both ends of the floor and Iwas also immpresed with how well we rebounded.  Also in the limited amount of time Oberto played I thought he played pretty well on d and did a good job of closing out on the perimeter, but on offense I saw him standing around most of the time and he was not very active on that end of the floor.  With that said I realize that he just arrived in Portland today and was probably tired from the trip.  Hopefully he plays better on o, but as long as he can hold his own on d while Camby is resting I will be satisfied.

That was nice by Oberto, wish Lamarcus would learn that! He commited a stupid foul by pushing someone after they made the dang dunk for an and 1!
Lamarcus also seemed to revert to his old self in the second half. Hopefully he keeps playing like the first half more often.

Tonight's D wasn't that great... The Suns scored 81 points in 3 quarters. They just went completely cold in the 4th quarter. We still have a lot of room for improvement. I'd like to see more hustle/activity defensively. I understand it's only the first game of the season but we definitely have a lot more room for improvement. Obviously our defense will get a whole lot better once Joel and Greg get back, can't wait for when that time comes!
I am a fan of having a completely healthy team for once.

Thats what im saying we played great D without our big shot blockers and we out rebounded them with just Camby and Aldridge

Haha, didn''t see you wrote this, asked if you wanted him at 11 on another topic. I like Meyers, I really do, buuuuut. Henson is a better defender. And Rebounder. And shot blocker. And is stronger.

I think that Meyers will be more ver...

if we get no.1 pick, i would trade that pick for omer asik and that all. the rockets would probably use that pick for a trade with the lakers since lakers need to get younger
