The hype train for OKC is getting out of control. I can understand a few people picking them, but well over the majority? Nonsense. I guess when you beat a team 3 out of 4 times and once without your star, doesn't count for very much anymore. Did I also mention that we missed well over 300 games due to injury and they missed..what..10 games? OKC will be a good team, but Durant can't do it all by himself.

Can OKC really pull off another 50 win season? Your not going to surprise and sneak up on anyone this year.
I think the kiss of death was their SI cover for the upcoming season.

I also like the picture and caption they used...can Roy and the Blazers keep up with Durant and the Thunder? Please.

I totally agree Hawes, we beat them three out of four times, once without Roy, and we took a good team to six games in the playoffs too!!! With that being said, this league is about STARTS not TEAMS, and thats why a lot of experts give OKC the edge on us. I like that several experts did pick us to win the division, and I think we very well may. But Durant is one of the three best players in the league, and the league is about stars (for the most part) like I said. We'll prove them wrong though, and show that we do indeed have a better team.
    GO BLAZERS!

Durant is a beast. A top 2-3 player in the League. The best pure scorer the game has seen since MJ early in his career. There's no getting around that. But what I'm not sold on is the Thunder's length inside and this supposed "next step" that Westbrook is going to take. Not buying it. Green is a nice piece, but not a good enough option. Aldrich is very green and while I do like Ibaka, he isn't a center if you have Green playing the 4. Finally, I am just not buying the Westbrook hype. Crafty vets like Andre can take him out of his game easily and I don't think he's as good on D as people are making it out to be. Force him to shoot jumpers and you've shut him down.

OKC is way overhyped. They didn't improve that much over the off-season...and they won 50 games.

We won 50 games missing 311 games total over the course of the season, and oh we beat them 3/4 times, most of the time with a whittled down front court. This division is between the Blazers and the Jazz, and I think it will play out this way when all is said and done.

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
