Will Nate play his starters a lot of minutes to simulate a regular season game or will he rest them and lower the chance of injury? It's already been announced that Wesley and Marcus are out for tonight's game, so I think we'll see a lot of Bayless, Rudy, Dante, and Babbitt. I know pre-season games are pointless and don't count, but if we could beat Denver and go 3-0 at the Rose Garden this pre-season, that has got to give the team some extra confidence heading into the season.

3-0 at home would be something nice to take away this pre-season. I could see the starters play early and then maybe late game...who knows. Would like to see more of the rookies play just cause I haven't seen a whole lot of them live.

Good sports night with lots of scoreboard watching with the Ducks game on, and the Giants game will be coming down to the end close to tipoff.

Don't forget the two nasty blocks! Was really not expecting him to play last night but im glad he did.

Team looked a little sluggish in the first half, both teams didn't shoot the ball all that well for the game. Nice to see Roy turn in on in the second half and he played 40 plus minutes. LMA almost posted a double double, DC filled up his stat sheet nicely for the 20 minutes he got.

Bayless got worked by Lawson the guy couldn't keep him in front of him. Some really poor decisions by Batum in the first not being able to get a entry pass to LA (both LA and Batum had 3 turn overs each). 3 pt % was awful as well.

Does this team look ready to start the regular season on Tuesday?

Looks like Bayless and Babbitt were the only Blazers with a negative +/-.  I'm sure Nate is all over the team about turnovers.

I feel for Bayless after working so hard, he has to feel the pressure  AJ is putting on him.  Agree with what MB wrote as far as the rotation being  " for now ".   Bayless has to much talent to be a back up pg his entire career.

I watched the Duck massacre,  but the Blazers sound ready to me.

I was in attendance for this game, and was struck by two things...

Aldridge has addressed his critics, and in a big way.  I have been as critical as anyone with regard to his past failures in the standard PF categories.  Not on this night however.  I don't recall seeing LA set up outside the key more than ONE time, and even on that occassion, when he made the move to free himself for the shot - the move he is quickly making famous and the one that resembles Sheed's turnaround fade - he dipped IN instead of falling away.  Obviously something new that has been added to the repertoire.  Very nice.  LA's rebounding numbers don't do the way he played justice at all.  He was a presence inside every minute he was on the floor.  If he is able to be consistent with this type of effort, an all-star he will be.  Take that to the bank.

The defense to start the game couldn't have been more porous.  However, the D slowly tightened up, like JP's snake around it's prey, becoming absolutely suffocating in the second half.  There would be nothing easy for Denver on this night.  Several times, Mello had intentions of posterizing a Blazer inside, only to be fouled with conviction or turned away completely empty handed.  No "and-ones" to speak of, and PRIDE took center stage.  I for one, couldn't have been more pleased.  Might there again be a home court advantage in the RG this season, besides whatever the fans provide?  Can't help but think Matthews has had something to do with this.  Proud to say, where his bandwagon is concerned, I publicly and verifiably hitched up the horses.  Get well soon WM.

BTW...if any of you were there as well, I was the guy chanting, "NEW  -  YORK.....NEW  -  YORK.....NEW  -  YORK" every time Mello EARNED a trip to the charity stripe.  The "Free Throw Guy" had nothing on this cat!

On a side note... for any and all who question Roy belonging in the elite, especially at his position, you may want to pay attention to the way he is not only able to go left, but FINISH left as well.  Truly a rare ability, one that the much heralded Anthony does not possess.

LA easily could of had at least 3 more boards but he let a teammate grab it like Roy to rush down the court so I wont knock his REB stat I saw him let open boards get grabbed not fight with teammates over them

Valid point.  Great observation.  One of the reasons Camby ended with 17 too.  LA was clearing space and takin names.  Keep it up #12!

Nice Idea but I think the TWolves trade is very lobsided in our favor

Derrick Williams and Budinger are proven players in the league. Claver and Freeland are not

Hawes was playing nice this season and would be a good pick up imo ...

I love the Grit and Grind, and I love the Spurs timeless play. I think if the Spurs get to the finals, they will beat the heat, but they won''t beat the Grizzlies easily, and the Grizz can''t beat the Heat. I know it''s weird.
