Everyone talks about Head Coach of the Cleaveland Cavaliers as coach of the year. Why? Just because they have the best record in the NBA and they didn't last year? Doc Rivers didn't win it last year. Byron Scott did. Why? Because he brought a team who did not make the playoffs in the prior year, into the playoffs plus a top 4 seed. Sound familiar?

If Nate McMillan doesn't win it this year you've got to question the people who vote for this stuff and their knowledge of the game of basketball.

That's just 'cause the Cavs are the favorites to win the championship. Nate's bringin' it, but the coach of the year award typically goes to the team that wins it all. Now if the Blazers smoke everyone in the playoffs, en route to the second championship in franchise history, and Nate doesn't get coach of the year, then we'd have a serious problem (:

If Nate isn't awarded COY honors I'll be pissed. His team increased their win total by 13 games. 13 games! They're the youngest team in NBA History to make the Playoffs (I'm iffy on this, but I believe it's correct). He had to implement six new players into the team, three of which were rookies and integral parts of the rotation. No team finished the season stronger. All this and only 4 other teams finished with better records. In my opinion, he's done much much more with less in the tougher conference.

Nate deserves this. Not only for this season, but his body of work over the past three.
I am a fan of the 2008-2009 Season. What a ride! Thank you Blazers!

In fact, technically only one team (L@kers) finished with a better record. We tied with the Nuggets and Spurs for the 2nd best record and were on the short end of a series of tiebreakers.

I am honestly pissed at the lack of attention McMillan is getting. 13 game improvement with the youngest active roster in the NBA, juggling a deep and talented rotation, dealing with lengthy injuries to several key players (Webster, Oden, and Blake most notable), and all the while keeping his team absolutely focused on their goal.

Did you know that after his first year Nate has averaged and 11 game improvement every year? He had to bottom out that first team that won 21 games, but even that was a step in the right direction because he installed a "No BS" system. I am completely convicend he is the coach that will lead us to the promised land.

    42 game $1,000,000 deal.

Option of earning an extra $500,000 - Oden must average 8+ PPG and 5+ RPG, or something along those lines.

That gives him incentive to play hard, low risk / high reward for the Blazers. I...
