Freeman- Camby Tweaks Hip At Practice

    Should the Trail Blazers sit Camby for the Pre-Season?
    Yes - We simply can't take the risk of losing another C (42)

    Marcus Camby tweaked his hip at practice today and Coach Mac said he's questionable for Saturday's preseason game.
    Is this huge news? Probably not if you're the average NBA team. But we're no average team. Our injury situation and injured past make every single ding, bump, bruise, or cut put under a microscope, because we can not afford to lose another big body.

    Now the question becomes, do you sit Camby the rest of the pre-season and avoid injury risk or do you play him a little under his normal regular season minutes to get him in game shape for the start of the season?

    need to protect the one big man we have and give Joel and Greg as much time to be healthy as possible.He's a vetern and doesn't need the  Pre-season is get ready plus it is a long year and we will need him!

    McMillan said Marcus Camby tweaked his hip diving for a loose ball in practice, but should be OK for tomorrow night.
    Good to hear he'll be okay, but still to close to getting hurt.

    I wish some of the young players will learn from him... How many players dive for loose balls in games let alone practice,  If he is that driven to put it on the line for practice this could be a fantastic year.

    After the scare I had yesterday, I am not going to worry too much about this.
     Its between a rock and a hard place now if anything happens to Camby :(

    Sit him. It is only the preseason, its just not worth it. Camby's been in the league for well over 10 years, so I think he knows how to play basketball regardless if he warms up in the preseason or not. I hope we take all precautions until Big Joel is ready to return.

    Rest him.  Camby has been plagued his entire career by just this sort of thing.  Bad enough, we will all be walkin on eggshells from opening night on.  Why start early??

    Told you guys, Luke Babbitt is gonna be our reserve center until the Pryz and/or Oden get back. All 198lbs of angry Nevada comin' at cha!

    YIKES. the center position requirements are dropping by the second......
    If anyone had voted no, i would of thrown a tantrum, Camby, rest him, before someone slits his throat to watch the dust come out.

    Yes it is only pre-season. Diving for loose balls in pre-season,priceless. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Camby, always have. Since his early days. Personally,i think every game should be played to be won, otherwise, whats the point. I  never do anything to lose, period. Jacks, marbles,monopoly, scrabble, and especially when i played ball. I hate to lose. Losers came up with the coin, " it's just a game". No it is not! Its a competition. And when you compete, you compete to win. Second ,is just a way to sugarcoat the title of being the first loser. If the whole team tweaks a hip because they were making a huslte play, or diving for a loose ball, i can live with that. It shows a will to win. Go Blazers!!
