Heavy, heavy fines enforced on Rudy for "conduct detrimental to the NBA"
When does this become conduct detrimental to the team?
This is straight messed. I mean, Latrell Sprewell got fined less for beating up coach PJ Carlesimo.
"But he's playing so good, we love Rudy."
I hear ya, but sorry, the NBA don't.
Shut him up by shippin' him out.
We want to watch our team play hard and win games, not complain about how Euro-ball is better. It's like, how the heck are we supposed to know that? This is America homey, we don't get no European channels.
This off court sympathy syndrome has to stop. Step up Cho and put the team first, Patty Mills wants to be a Blazer and Rudy Fernandez doesn't. How hard is it to figure that out???

I agree that we need to do something about rudy, but the blazers really don't any more young point gaurds who won't play at all this season.  They already have Bayless, Miller, Elliot Williams, and Armon Johnso at pg so we really don't need a fifth pg on our roster.  I think they should release or trade Rudy(unless he has had some sudden change of heart now that he is playing well here this preseason) to free up room for a center since we probably won't get Pryzbilla or Oden back untill the second or third month of the season.  From what I've heard the Blazers have shown some interest in both Erick Dampier and Dj Mbenga.  But they dont have enough room to sign either one of them until they realease or trade Rudy.  I like Mills but I just think the Blazers have a far greater need for a big man than they do for another point gaurd.
I am a fan of the Blazers draft selections. Feels good to finally be able to say that

As long as Rudy keeps up the points on your face, I have no problem with him being here.  His agents are the ones who need to go.

As far as Mills,  next topic please, this was tired last season ......

Cutting off Rudy would be like the most stupid proposition at this moment. Up to now, I still can't get over the fact that the team waived Ryan Gomes instead of trading him for a biggie.

I sympathize with you because I also am a fan. However, I just am not with you when it comes to that player transaction proposition. The way Rudy is playing now certainly shows that there's more off-court than what Rudy is supposedly saying. We have to wait because it is still the preseason, and we actually don't know what is happening back there. It is still too close to call, too early to tell.

I also understand that we fans are the lifeblood of this team. However, the team administration know best. And what they do now is wait and see. I think the team's top brass have more pressing matters than just attending to Rudy. As you see, the team's roster now stands at 19. Cutting Rudy just won't make the situation any better.

Keep Rudy, let him keep talking, and we'll keep fining him. If we're lucky, he'll get fined into a hole so deep that he'll owe the organization money. Then he can return to Spain with a chapter Once' on his resume'

... since we probably won't get Pryzbilla or Oden back untill the second or third month of the season.

actually, Joel participated in his first full-contact practice on oct. 10 (also his birthday), and neither he nor nate are ruling him out for the season opener on oct. 26. while that's optimistic, it's likely he'll return within two weeks of the beginning of the season.

i do agree that we need another big man, but a 6-10 or 6-11 pf-center would seem to be a better long-term choice.

CREO QUE MAS BIEN EL PROBLEMA NO ES RUDY ES SU AGENTE Y COMO LO HAN MANEJADO, RECUERDEN LA PRIMER TEMPORADA DE RUDY, TIENE MUCHO CON LO QUE PUEDE AYUDAR A LOS BLAZERS, SI BIEN LA PASADA TEMPORADA NO FUE LA MEJOR PUEDEN HABER MUCHAS RASONES POR LAS CUALES SE VIO UN POCO APAGADO PERO DE QUE TIENE TALENTA LO TIENE. GO BLAZERS

it's like some of you arn't even looking at how he is playing... he is shooting like over 60% from the 3. He is obviously playing hard for us and that is what we asked him to do. He may want to leave but he said himself he is a professional and will play like one. I say as long as he is willing to give his all like he has been leave him alone and support him. He is still a member of our team.

Instead of cutting him, why not just trade him for a 1st round pick, then we'd have an open roster spot?

my take on it? Rudy may not have known what he was getting himself into when he signed, or how he would feel x amount of time down the road, but he needs to accept happily the obligations of his contract. additionally, everyone involved needs to just grow up. just because he isnt as happy as one could be playing for the blazers (because anyone should be), doesnt mean anyone needs to hate on him. conduct schmonduct. who gives a rats tail. when it comes to the nba bigwigs, its a money making business. Rudy's creating a buzz and still nailing some threes.
he's a good player, he is helping us not hurting us, and by agreeing to a contract we all need to play nice. lets be real, not the ideal situation.
but come on, its not that big a deal.

You absolutely never .. never .. never .. never .. waive a player who has either the skill or the value of Rudy .. you either trade him .. or fine him till he stops his temper tantrums ..

Even tho many many many fans seem to forget this .. but the NBA is a business first league ..

Best possible scenario with the whole Rudy fiasco if you ask me .. Play the heck outta him .. let him build up his trade value ..

Then Trade him .. for what we may want/need ..

He is already doing the hard part for us .. and thats finding his game .. the easy part is on us .. Wait till he simply blows up again .. and shop him around .. As either a expiring contract .. or a player who can start on virtually any team in the league lvl talent.

Either way portland is about to be in a win/win situation with Rudy.

This is the wrong team for Mills.
I'm keeping Rudy until the end of his contract, or until something way too good to pass up comes along (aka: a great trade).

Blazers need to hurry up and let Patty go because he's getting pulled down by the blazers being greedy!!! U don't need him but he's a good player and works damn hard.... he's not a wanna be super star!!
