    From DIME-
Marcus Camby said he might retire once his current contract is out in 2012, depending on how his body feels. “If I’m in the rotation, then I’m fine with that,” Camby told NBA Fanhouse. “I think I’ve got too much pride to be the 11th or 12th man.” Given his history of injuries and the way things are going in Portland these days, Camby had better get out before he loses a

Not exactly the most earth shattering news/rumor in the world, but still something to think about. If ture, we've only got two more years out of Camby Cakes. This will be a big season for Greg and Joel. Both have to prove they can be injury free, otherwise we may have to  focus our trade targets, free agents, or draft prospects on a young big for the future.

But in two years, Joel will be 33, which is no spring chicken either.

But why worry, we have Oden ! I'm sure the "pg of the future" will still #1 priority  (sarcasim:) )
One of these days the focus will be at the correct position for the Blazers.....

I completely agree that this team DOES need another big.  Who knows?  Maybe one will accompany a PGOTF?  These short and long term issues are why Cho gets paid the big bucks.  I'm confident he's on it.  Many have speculated that Camby Cakes has actually elongated his career having missed so much court time due to the myriad of minor injuries he has sustained.  Portland is now reaping those benefits.  That said, I DO feel that Marcus may be playing on "borrowed time".

If Oden doesn't have a decent season this year then Portland needs to get rid of him and start looking for a center prospect otherwise whats wrong with looking for a PG of the future? With Hill now added to the team they got more depth at center so they might just trade Hill,Przybilla and Oden for a decently good center. Lets just hope that the managers have a plan for this franchise. GO BLAZERS! 10 11 Champs

If Oden gets injured again, his NBA career will be over.

Yeah well portland doesn't make the best play acquiring decisions.
But i dont understand, is this decision based on his health, or his ego?
Its funny how Camby's about done, but most of the other 96 draft picks are good to go, just portland's luck

    Huh?
    1996 NBA Draft Prospects

    Iverson? Done, playing in Turkey
    Abdur-Rahim? Retired years ago
Marbury? Somewhere in China eating Vasoline
Ray Allen? Playing with the Celtics, but on the steady decline
Antoine Walker?Out of the league for 5 years
    Lorenzen Wright? (unfortunately) R.I.P.
Kerry Kittles? Been done for nearly a decade
Samaki Walker? I can't even recall the last time he laced 'em up
Dampier? Looking for an NBA job as we speak
    Todd Fuller? Who?
    Vitaly Potenpinko? Sure
    Kobe? See Ray Allen
Peja? Not even a rotational player at this point
Nash? Keeps on trucking, the exception, not the rule

And that's only the first 15 picks. Most of the rest of the 96 class is M.I.A. Outside of Nash and Kobe, Camby is in the best shape of them all. He's performing at a high level and seems to only get better with age. So I'd 100% disagree with your statement that Camby is breaking down while the rest of 96 is gearing up.

okay. i guess i am being misread for the most literal person in the world.
Kobe, idk if youve noticed but just led his team to the championship, again... And ray allen is "still truckin"
Nash is crazy good, when does he not blow your mind. Peja plays though doesnt he? And he's not saying that he's done after the season is he? Dampier, plays, Walker is still listed as a free agent, last played game, 2008 pre season. Starbury was on the celtics like last year or the year before, no one may want him, but i dont think he's "done". As well as Iverson, being listed as a free agent, no one may want him, but i wouldnt count him out for sure. I mean look at what shaq did, he became the olderst player in the league last year, i think, and just signed with Boston for 2 years.
Jeff mciniss, played on cleveland when Lebron broke out, now plays for charlotte, but i guess he'd be like one person from the second round.
    And BUh, Buh,Buh, BEN! WALLACE.
    so sorry.....

this really isn't news to me. i seem to remember hearing something when he signed his current contract about it being likely he would retire a blazer. if, after the next two seasons, he feels he can still go and contribute, then he can revisit the question of retirement. in the meantime, let's not treat Marcus like the Brett Favre of the nba.

I love the Grit and Grind, and I love the Spurs timeless play. I think if the Spurs get to the finals, they will beat the heat, but they won''t beat the Grizzlies easily, and the Grizz can''t beat the Heat. I know it''s weird.

Charlotte is the team that would take the 13 and 10 for their 4th.

Not sure Oladipo or Mclemore is worth two late lottery picks, even in a weak draft.   I would LOVE to grab one of them but there is plenty of talent left. 2> 1 I would...

Ahead of Carmelo are you shitting me? Melo ped 28.7 and 6.9 Reb his PER was almost 25. He shot better from the field and from beyond the arc than Batum.

Batum at his best cannot hold Melo''s jock and that is a fact.&nb...
