    Who is our 6th man?
    Wesley Mathews (28)
     90%
    Jerryd Bayless (1)
     3%
    Rudy Fernandez (1)
     3%
    Luke Babbit (1)
     3%
    Dante Cunningham (0)
     0%
    Other (0)
     0%
Wesley is looking like a force that can be both playing 2 and 3. Bayless can play both 1 and 2. Rudy can go both 2 and 3 when we want 3 guards out there. Babbit can be 3 and 4. Dante can be a 3 or a 4. Lots of combo guys. Who do you guys think is going to be our 6th man?

Wesley is going to be a 6th man of the year candidate.  Sorry Rex and Rudy.  I also <3 what Dante and Luke are bringing with rebounds playing against bigger players, but I can't wait to see big Joel back.  Joel could be Wesleys biggest competition for 6th man for the Blazers. <3 the bench when the anchor is added !!

I like Wesley's chances too. Although, with the rave going on about how many positions he can play, competently, i wouldnt be surprised if he was a starter at some point.

Exactly.  That, and with the obvious unpredictability of health...he may end up a starter that way as well (let's hope not).  If a sixth man for the required amount of games, I believe he has as good a shot as any at the 6th man of the year award.  He may also be in contention for Most Improved by seasons end.

I might add that IMO, two of the other options in the poll won't be Blazers at seasons end

Looks like Matthews to me.  He's been tearing it up so far in the preseason.

Matthews, there is no competition for 6th man. And no I don't think he should ever start without there being an injury somewhere. He has the ability to help spark the offense while Aldridge and Roy are on the bench. Too often last year when the second unit was in offense was waaay too hard to find, this year it shouldn't be the case with Matthews. However I believe he's going to finish games.

Wesley has tremendous poise and would start on any team that doesn't have B-Roy. I expect him to have a big impact on winning games for the Trailblazers.
But when it comes down to key moments and solid play off the bench, Jerryd Bayless gets my vote.

I didn't vote, because I think it will be a different person each night, but mainly Bayless and Matthews. I envision them both subbing in either together or one right after the other. Both bring a scoring punch and 100% on the defensive end. Our 2nd unit backcourt is really shaping up to be one of the NBA's elite.  I can't recall that being the case since 99 and 00 when we have Jimmy Jackson and Greg Anthony in 99 and Bonzi Wells and Greg Anthony in 2000.

I think Wesley is the obvious choice. Dante is a close 2nd in my mind.

If the ongoing preseason is used to judge this vote then it has to be Mathews, he is just lighting it up, outscoring even our established players. But I like Bayless a lot, though Mathews is a better all-around player. Wesley gets my vote.

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.
