My biggest problem with Rudy this whole time was that he was putting himself in front of the team. My worst fear was that he would show up to camp and still be disgruntled and poison an otherwise perfect (as far as we know) locker room situation. Well despite all his threats not to show up, here he is, and the drama continues. Brandon was a total class act when he talked about himself and the team taking responsibility for not making Rudy feel welcome. I can only assume after that that efforts were made. If Rudy is still homesick and doesn't like his situation, I think it's time for him to just go home, live off his savings, and chill for a couple of years. There is NOTHING preventing him from doing that except for the 1.2 million bucks / that the blazers are on the hook for when he doesn't even want to be here. He has destroyed his value in the league, threatened not to show up, and now shown up with the attitude and demands. For anyone who doesn't want to grasp the truth that Rudy is responsible for all the drama... the 'blame it on the agents' folks. If they weren't speaking for him, don't you think he would change his representation? I know I would. Wouldn't you? In the Spanish media, Rudy has said most of these things himself, and been very critical of Nate with his own mouth. Sergio did the same thing. Google for it and find a free Spanish translator. It's there. I've seen it going back to last season. Go home Rudy. Just leave it alone. You've done everything you can to damage this franchise because they can't make YOU happy. It's not a match.

I was hoping to see a link to the letter Rudys European agent sent to the Portland media on this site today.
As long as Rudy keeps shooting 3's, I have no problem with him here while the rookies learn.
Isn't this the final year of his contract anyway?  He could be a valuable expiring contract to trade, come February if we still dont have Oden or Pryz.

Time to put media stories about Rudy in the trash. Guys instead of being tools of the media, how about concentrate on the team and the play of the team, not individuals. Focus on the Blazers please, these comments and articles are a joke to the game.

Kim - no, he has 2 years left. its a standard 4 year rookie scale contract. + nobody cares about his contract as expiring... it's only 1.2 mill.

LTG - Im completely concentrating on the team, not the individual. I want the individual gone because of the team. that's the whole problem if you ask me. cut out the cancer before it kills you.

EMoney - while he's here riding out his contract 'performing'... let's just hope he keeps his mouth shut and stops damaging the reputation of the blazers going forward - damamging their chances at signing future euros, hurting their chances of getting anything back for him in this league, and showing the younger players how to act when they're not happy. If Cho doesn't 'win' this one, he's going to deal with it again.

I really didn't like the guy on 95.5 the game today around noon who kept making fun of  Rudy's agent by calling him pepe le peu and making fun of his accent, poor grammar and english. He's not an American moron!! Of course he doesn't speak perfect English. Maybe that guy on 95.5 is from Arizona.

I totally understand that his agent is now trying to get the fans on his side to have more weight to throw around, but Rudy did sign a contract so it doesn't work that way. The continual public pleading is getting ridiculous and is causing more problems for us, but that does not give an excuse to crack jokes of someone's ethnicity. There is a difference of cultures here, and the ignorant radio host did not seem to take that into consideration when speaking about the guy. Basically the guy on the radio was really pi$$&%#@ me off today.

I can't blame Rudy for trying to get out if he really does not like it here, but he is not handling it very well at all. He is getting paid way to much money to not at least find a way to make the best of it without screwing up his own chances of being traded. It feels like he is sabotaging  our attempts at trading him.
I am a fan of comcast and the blazers making deals that keep screwing us over!! woot!

Based on how Rudy played during the exhibition game, it can be inferred that he has moved on with the pre-season drama that he went in. I think it would also be good for the team and the fans also to move on.

By the way, please do not be too sentimental about how Rudy handled the situation he was in. People have different cultures, have different upbringings. What people need is understanding. These players are people too. If we keep on talking negative about them, it might not work well for all of us.

I am a fan of the Portland Trail Blazers. Period.

Nothing can be concluded towards anything involving Rudy, especially nothing stemming from one preseason game. It would not be good for the team to move on, not only are we trying to get fair value for a coveted pick we spent a lot on (before and during employment), for two reasons. One it doesn't make sense from a money stand-point, to just give him away and let him pocket the guaranteed contract he's trying to get out of, whether or not the contract is on our books for the remainder of the season and possibly next season, not sure how that works. Also, if we release him he can go anywhere, and last thing were going to do is see him change his mind (for the millionth time) and join anyone of our rival teams that could use some more depth at the 2 guard position. But most importantly, Cho is setting precedent for how european players can and can't act in the NBA, with Rubio and now Rudy trying to throw their fraile frames (weight) around, trying to hold leverage over small-market teams, Cho is proving it  isn't going to work in Portland.
Culture's doesn't change the meaning of contractual obligation, just because America has the worlds highest percentage of litigators, doesn't mean the rules to contract don't apply in other countries as well. The fact that an agent, someone who deals in contracts, was trying to pull that card is preposterous.

These players are people, and while calling them pepe le peu is shock jock garbage, holding them accountable and speaking in a negative light, as long as it's a truthful one, is what we as fans should expect from our front office.

It's amazing how many people sympathize with Rudy's cultural differences. It's equally staggering the amount of people who migate to the United States with the mere hopes of making a better life for themselves and their families. My parents included. Immigrants from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Not once did i hear them make excuses as to why they werent where they wanted to be... yet. Or, i miss my family so much that im willing to give up my job. It just goes to show that an era makes a world of difference when it comes to stick-to-it-tive-ness. Our kids today are soft. Ready to bail in the face of adversity. Parents have gotten soft as well. When we began a task, we were encouraged to complete it before moving on to the next project. It made us resilient.
I wont say that i dont care what Rudy's going through, but i will say, suck it up. Sound off like you got a pair. You signed your name, to play the game, the reason you came, was to establish your fame. Now you claim, things arent the same. Bow your head in shame, you've yourself to blame, when you chose to proclaim, that you're in such pain. A two year timeframe, is what remains, before you board the next plane, arriving in Spain.

If Rudy don't want to be here he should leave.
If you we're in his shoes and wanted to go home you would probably be doing the same thing.
I mean true, he could have went about it in different ways, like kept his mouth shut and just finished out his contract. But he didn't, and that was his choice, nobody can do anything about it. So deal with it. As long as he sits on the 3 pt line and knocks down 3 buckets consistantly every game until he leaves, I have no problem with him being here. But the second he F#*% up a game, and is the reason we lost I'll be on his arse! lol

He'll be on a short leash, but we aren't going to cut him, we'll sit him if he seems to be throwing a game, and we'll make him watch in street clothes. Hopefully if he continues to be a problem, Stern will intervene even further with fines. He'll get playing time until he's traded or until he becomes a total nuisance.
