    From Ball Don't Lie-

Meanwhile, Walsh would have a chance to pry Rudy Fernandez away from Portland with a first-round pick. The questions the Knicks had concerning Wilson Chandler's(notes) recovery from offseason surgery are one reason why the club has explored the possibility of acquiring Fernandez, the disgruntled shooting guard who is in camp with the Trail Blazers after threatening to return to Spain.

How well Chandler progresses during the preseason will determine whether the Knicks revisit talks with the Blazers. According to a team source, Walsh tested the waters last month by offering Portland two future second-round picks in addition to one of the two players the Knicks picked in the second round in June -- Andy Rautins(notes) or Landry Fields(notes).

The Blazers rejected the deal and have summarily turned down trade offers from Boston and Chicago as well.

Unless its a 3 team trade, I don't see how the Knicks get anything done by offering 2nd round picks. Thoughts?

Agreed. We're pass the stage of loading up on young talent, bunch of 2nd rounders does little to help this team.

The Knicks need to do something, they are going to be one of those teams freaking out 2 weeks into the season when they realize it doesn't matter what you do on paper, you still have to perform as a team, and chemistry can't be bought, only loyalty can.

Based on how Rudy played during the exhibition game, it can be inferred that he has moved on with the pre-season drama that he went in. I think it would also be good, for the team, for the administration, and the fans, also to move on.

Yeah they probably were still interested, until yesterday! The timing is very interesting for Rudy's agent blabbering on about this. Also thought that Jason Quick article was stupid and just made things worse. Especially after the way Rudy played. They both should keep their mouths shut.

I believe the team needs to give rudy to knicks then either keep chandler or use him in 3 way trade cavaliers jerryd bayless, wilson chandlerand future picks and that 3mill that Paul Allen has in his pocket right now to get mo williams and jamario moon.

Let Rudy play to maybe increase his value. If not he rides the bench and sees what he should have done to get more play time. That's being aggressive like how Matthews has been doing thus far.

I say you keep him to his word.
He said he'd rather sit for the rest of his contract than play.
    DO it.
Keep the bench warm for those who deserve to be there.

I think the above trade is gud three team getting mo williams, but if we can get jj hickson i think that will help our team the most given the predicament of our frontcourt.  JJ Hickson is a good finisher, high energy on both sides of floor, crashes boards,is a big who can run the floor and i believe can play the 5 in spots if there is a posiibility of gettn mo or hickson for the betterment of the team long term i say get hickson

Chandler wasn't offered in the recent trade, JJ hickson is the Cav's new franchise player, we don't need Mo williams for what they would want in return.

Barton has some potential he is too thin at the moment. He is also a little out of control at times, which he improved a lot as the season we on. His shooting though was just dreadful at times which is why I pushed for him to go to the d league so...

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.
