    - But what Fernandez does have is a chance. A chance to play. A chance to win. And a chance to have fun in a wonderful city that still is eager to embrace him while he is being paid $1.246 million.

But behind the scenes, his European agent, Gerard Darnes, has flown to Portland and is trying to persuade Cho in face-to-face talks to release Fernandez, allowing the Spaniard to sign a European contract. Meanwhile, American agent Andy Miller has continued to harass Cho by phone, also requesting a release.

"It's my decision, and everybody needs to respect my decision. And that's it," Fernandez said Saturday.

Yeah, let's let a beat writer tell it to us like it is. That should be very satisfying yes? Actually, Rudy spoke volumes and explained much by his play on the court. The fans, not a beat writer responded, and really told it like it was. The play of Rudy is all that matters, the rest is sounding sad for your journalism. I would be ashamed.

You know like i know, we are a very forgiving city. Rudy owes us an apology. It needs to resonate and reverberate throughout our city's ears as loudly as his agent made sure it reached us. I alone speak six languages, one of which is spanish. Im certainly not the sharpest knife in the draw in this city, so im sure there are others like me who would have happily been translators, in order to make Rudy's transition here smooth and expeditious. I love this city and especially this Team of ours. I will defend it from both FOREIGN and Domestic. That goes for mental infractions as well. It's kind of like dating a woman for two years. You're buying dinner's, going to the movies, taking long walks, even meeting the insulting future father-in-law [ Gerard darnes] and enduring the blatant comparisons to the ex. And after all of that, she ends up marrying a guy named Basil who she met once when she was doing work for Greenpeace in Antarctica. Thats how it felt hearing Rudy speak of our City, The Liquid Sunshine State, Portland , Oregon 97 something. You owe big time Rudy. I'll settle out of court for you being ready when you're called upon.  Freshman record for three's Rudy!! What are you a Junior now ? Enough talk, enough with your boy Gerard. Has he ever made a three? Has he done one suicide ? I bet he doesnt miss his family. You know why? He's not the professional Rudy, you are. I dig your skill man, but im all out of chapstick. I wont be one of the one's lining up to kiss your Ask me what you can do to be the man in the eyes of your family. It's one thing to be a hero at home. it's another thing altogether, to return home one. To here of your exploits from the mouth's of others. Your family in Spain hearing about your step back three and one at the buzzer. The frenzy of the Rose Garden of the Rose Garden as the chant the familiar cadence, Rudy Rudy Rudy Rudy Rudy

Rudy Rudy Rudy, do you remember those sweet sounding chants that would fill Our House. The fluent look of the spanish sensation. The charming smile holding 3 fingers high abouve his head. Runing down the court flaping his arms for us all to rise with him. THEN BOOOM hammerd to the floor by a ariza foul. Fear struck all of us. We wept we praid we watched for what seemed to be a life time. Carried out on a stretcher fans and players were not the same the rest of the night. They Rose up for Rudy they played harder they cheered louder. L.A. Sucks L.A. susks, and the Beat L.A's could be heard even from those sitting in there homes. Never the same the smile fades the shot dissapears. Call it frightend, call it missing home, call it what ever you want. He had changed I saw a glimmer of that Rudy come back to life this past Fan Fest. But where do we go from here.  Rudy the ball is in your court the being traded is not but the desire to love the game and play the game you love is. One thing you have to know about Us in portland if your on our side we will back you. But dont trash us or disreaspect us. The fans gave you there heart. Dont ever forget it.

The best part of that article are the possibilities and hopefulness of it. I love the idea of a second unit that has BAYLESS, MATTHEWS, AND RUDY - it seems like a relentless, fast, push the ball, scoring backcourt. I wish Rudy would realize that it's only one season and he can use it as a time to become awesome. No matter if he stays in the nba or goes back to Europe it would be a good period of gaining experience at the highest level of basketball. I don't understand why it's so hard for Rudy to just finish his contract here in Portland. Anyway, Cho does have all the power in this situation. I hope it doesn't come to a battle of ego's here, but a reasonable solution - like that backcourt of RUDY-MATTHEWS-BAYLESS!!!!

Some kid broke it down to where Matthews is only gonna get like 16 minutes a game, while Rudy is gonna get like high 20's. Dude, from watching the scrimmage, and a handful of Jazz games last season, ya'll better not be thinkin' about jackin' Wesley's minutes in a vain to make Rudy happier. That'd be horribly ridiculous!

Rudy's a strong talent, and they could be showcasing him, he's gotta play good if he wants to dig himself out of the hole he's buried himself in, and get traded to another team. He's gotta make teams know he's worth anything.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
