Brandon Roy Makes All-NBA 2nd Team

    This year Bandon Roy made the All-NBA third team. I'm hoping he can make the 2nd team because Steve Nash will be getting old and will start slowing down and I don't think he will be able to put up the same numbers. So I'm hoping Brandon Roy will beat out Joe Johnson for the All-NBA second team.

    Steve Nash plays the 1 spot, Brandon Roy won't be competing with him for the position.
    And Brandon Roy has been ranked on numerous sites as a better SG, when it comes to J.Johnson.

    B-Roy is a better SG than Joe Johnson no doubt. if he doesn't have knee issues he'll probably be considered for 1st NBA team! GO BLAZERS! 10 11 Champs

    It doesnt matter you play the 1 or the 2. When they vote for the All NBA teams, guards are in the same category. So technically he will be competing with point guards

    @Blazersforlife: Really? hmm I didn't know that. Well shoot B-Roy has my vote over Nash any day.
    But he still has to beat out Wade & Bryant. He'll probably beat out Wade, due to the big 3, Wades statistics should drop. (They do go by stats right?) But Kobe Bryants stats will most likely be close to what they we're last year, and I don't see Roy's numbers being that high, maybe close, but still.

    Yeah, when they vote, its two guards two forwards and a center. Look at past winners and you'll see what I mean. Same exact thing with the all star game.

    I agreee that Nash could be slowing down in the next few years, but in the last several years, he has easily been one of the four best guards in the game

    This last year was a little confusing; they put two shooting guards as the guards on the first team (Kobe and Wade), and two point guards as the guards on the second team (Nash and Williams).  It didn't really matter though, because Roy is the third best SG anyway, so he deserved to be on the third team.  But if the league does it this way next year, Roy does have a shot at second team.  However, when CP3 is thrown back into the mix, third team sounds a little more realistic for Brandon.  We'll see!

    Personally?  I am only concerned with Roy earning ONE honor...that of NBA champ.  This other stuff is just banter.  BRoy has added one ring already, during this offseason, and I for one am looking forward to the day when he adds another (...and another, and another, and...)

    Roy's primed to make 1st or 2nd team this year, he's ready to go from the get-go physically this year, so his numbers should be good (even for a guy who generally doesn't care about numbers), and Kobe could be looking at a decline in performance (even if for just one year) from all the wear and tear he's been through the past few long years, as well as Wade's increased scrutiny this year from the last few. If Wade doesn't headline a record breaking heat team this year I wouldn't consider him a lock at 1st team, and it's too early to predict that team's personal stat's.

    they do two guards. any two guards so it won't matter if Steve Nash plays PG and Brandon Roy SG

    NO because Wade and Kobe are both in the All NBA 1st team. So i'm hoping he will be grouped in the 2nd team with Deron Williams.

    Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
