The four biggest names are Lakers, Heat, Celtics, and Magic.  That of course doesn't mean it has to be one of those teams, but it likely will be.  Strong arguments could be made for any of these four teams.

    I'll start:  Celtics
They've got the best chance IMO because of their experience, depth, Rondo, and desire for revenge.

    What do you think?

I think if you remove celtics and put The 2010-11 Portland Trailblazers in their place.
Remove Rondo and replace it with Greg Oden.

I'll be realistic, Blazers still won't make it this season. Maybe a season or two... Anyway, for the Celtics, if Shaq won't have that big ego this season that he always has (which is actually quite impossible), the Celtics have the biggest chance to win this season's title.

For the East Con, I'd say Magic and Heat. For the West Con, Lakers and the remaining spot will be a winner-take-all.

My best guess is the Heat. LA looked less than stellar against the C's and really exploited the loss of Perkins in Game 7. Kobe looks like he's not on the decline but a steady one at that. I just don't see any way the Heat don't win it all..as much as I hate to say it. Boston, if they can stay healthy, could make a run due to their size inside, but I'm just not sure how much the Big 3 has left in the tank..of all teams that should have made a move at the deadline, it should have been them, dangling Ray Ray's 20 million expiring at a team to get a nice, young piece in return.

Too early for me to venture a guess.

IMO, the Celts are done...stick a fork in 'em.  Their home loss to woeful New Jersey late in the season last year spoke volumes.  This season, they're a year older.  Let the rebuilding process begin.  The east has gotten stronger while Boston has just gotten even older.

I really don't think this is Miami's year either.  Every one of their 82 regular season contests is likely going to be played at a much higher level with regard to intensity.  Every opponent wanting to measure themselves against, what is widely thought to be, the best.  At the end of the season, what will they have left?  The injury bug may creep in as well.  It is my belief that we, as fans, aren't the only ones who have a lack of respect for what has gone on in South Beach.  I think many players around the league also disagree with the misuse and abuse of the system displayed by the "Big 3" en route to "manufacture" their own super power.
In short...the role of Darth Vader has obviously been cast.  Who will play the role of Luke Skywalker?  There will be MANY auditioning!

This coming season, to me, looks as wide open as any in recent memory.  I can think of more reasons why the traditional favorites WON'T be there, than I can reasons why they will.  Additionally, I still believe the landscape of the league will change, in some cases rather drastically, before the February deadline.  Looks to be an exciting season!  Parody may be more prevalent than some have predicted

At the beginning of the season, before we've seen the new-look Heat play a game, the Lakers HAVE to be the favorites... they just won it all, didn't lose anything, and arguably got better during the offseason.

If I were a betting man, though, I'd hedge any other bet I make with money on Miami.  We've seen what D-Wade can do with a subpar supporting cast when he's healthy, so I shudder to dream about what this team is capable of.  We all know potential doesn't necessarily equal success, but it'd be hard to imaging this team not making some kind of run at it for the next several years.

I can't put any faith behind the Celtics this season, one year older, the giddiness of 2007 wearing off, etc.

And I can't believe in the Magic as long as Dwight still doesn't demand a double-team, and Vince Carter is on the roster.

Give me the Thunder over Boston and Orlando this season... Yes, I said it.

All told, however, I'd give the Lakers and Heat better odds than the entire rest of the field combined.  Will we take the championship to South Beach..?  At least a few Finals games...

Unfortunately for the Celtics, Shaq is the new Dwayne Schintzius - slow and crappy. If they had done a sign and trade for Rick Smits, they could have dumped Ray Ray's contract AND gotten an even better 3-point shooter. But they didn't do this, so the Lakers will win again.

The only threat to the lakers is the blazers because we give them the most problems, but if we don't beat them then they will win it all. I think it will be boston vs lakers one last time because this year will be a geling year for miami they will win the top seed in the east but i think boston will go all the way and lose to L.A., But somthing tell me don't be suprised if boston get it done or the spurs because we all know anything could happen.

I think it all depends on either joel or Oden being healthy when the time counts playoffs. Why not play
Aldridge in the middle he is better than anyone else in the west. Give cunningham a shot at powerforward
to start the season. My lineup would be roy, miller, matthews, cunnigham and aldrige Once Oden gets healthy
go with this lineup roy, oden, aldridge, mathews and miller
