The folks at NBA.com have the results from the annual rookie survey, which is conducted during the NBA's annual Rookie Transitions program, and a few of our rookies end up with top marks from their young peers.

Luke Babbitt being selected the best rookie shooter by a whopping 32.4 percent of his fellow first year guys is the headliner (it also backs up the claims made by Portland's scouting staff that Babbs is one of the better shooters to come out of the last few drafts), but Babbitt also makes the list as the second-most overlooked rookie in the class behind Lance Stephenson. I'm not really sure exactly what that means, but I'm about 99 percent sure it's a good thing.

Elliot Williams also made the survey, with 5.3 percent of the rookie class voting him as the most athletic rookie. After watching him play at the practice facility over the past few weeks, I can say with a fair amount of certainty that the Class of 2010-11 knows what they're talking about. I've seen Elliot's head completely over the rim at least 3 times.

Babbitt's shooting performance at the Summer League must have not been the norm then, because this is the 3rd or 4th time I've heard other people claim he's the best shooter in the class.(Not that he shot bad in Vegas but when you are dubbed the "best", expectations rise). It also could have been shooting from a farther distance threw off his accuracy as he's used to the college 3 point line and once he gets more strength, he'll be able to knock em down like he did at UNR.

I'm really excited to see Elliot play. I don't think I've ever seen him play live and outside of a few random youtube clips, so I know nothing on the kid, so what can we expect from him?

I share your anticipation and anxiety with wanting to see EW play.

Don't forget.  Nic didn't exactly turn heads with his summer league performance either.  I would also agree that the deeper NBA 3 was an adjustment for him.  He seems to be his own worst critic as well, getting frustrated with his struggles and so eager to prove himself.  That bodes well in the long-term, as it is likely indicative of an uncommonly strong work ethic.  I think everyone, especially Luke himself, needs to be  patient with the maturation of his game and his ability to have an impact at the NBA level.  He will make the adjustment, it just won't happen overnight

I love the Nevada connection of lefty's we acquired. Both i think will be solid. E Dub is also a lefty. We are alot stronger on the weak side now. Might as well say B-Roy is a lefty too.

I hope Elliot gets enough court time this year to dunk on some people, turn some heads, and get invited to the dunk contest!

I''m not talking about those kinda calls, but phantom calls. Kobe gets soooo many phantom calls. I like Lebron, but I know because he''s a superstar he gets certain actions overlooked. Kobe just gets random stuff called. Remember when Kobe smacked...

Oh, sorry Damian, you make so many I stopped reading them. I don''t because I don''t know much about salaries and stuff. Stephenson would be great, excellent rebounder, Tough Defender, is playing awesome in  today''s  game.

Siccolo, did you mean heavier or lighter? I don''t think Noel will do well in the league. If he stays healthy long enough, he might be a half decent starter, if not, Greg Oden.

Damian, you are completely right on that, let''s just hope it''s not a negative impact (Shout out, Ray Ray). And since when did people WANT to come to Portland? This is great.

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
