now that these guys are together are these guys really that good to win a nba championship in the first year together. With all the weapons they have. but they still dont have a center because there center got caught with alot of pot lol.

They have the talent to win this year but LeBron and Bosh are learning a new offense, unless they are revamping their offense altogether then all 3 stars are learning, and they need to learn to play off each other and with each other... Overall point, they can but I don't think they will this year.

It's hard to say. On paper, they are dominant. But, if they get matched up with a team that can exploit them inside for a 7 game series, anything can happen. I'm not a huge fan of their depth so if foul trouble or injuries become an issue, bye bye title hopes.

They won't win it all, lakers will be the hardest team to beat, these three have played together before and I think they have the mindset and ability to learn any system quickly (wade will be a good teacher). I don't like them, but if you try to be objective they will make a run this year. Boston will still surprise us and them but they (heat) have a really good chance to go deep.

I for the life of me can not understand how anyone doubts how the Heat can not win it all this year ..

The 3 best players at their respective positions .. and everyone seems to think they will not win it all ?

I think that not only will they win it all this year, but I honestly feel they will post the leagues best record, and should they face the Lakers in the Finals .. I think they will utterly dominate the lakers ..

I do not see any team in the NBA that could match up with the Heat .. No one can stop either James or Wade .. on any given night .. let alone both of them at the same time .. And Bosh .. yeah he is a big softy who does not want to bang, but that does not discount his shot, range or rebounding abilities ..

I guess (surprisingly) that I am among the very select few who see this team as the heavy favorites to win it all this year ..

I firmly believe that peoples hate of Lebron now is simply blinding them to what is more the apt to happen this year ..

I like the Lakers again to win it, but if the Heat just get smart and let Lebron run the point, because he is so great with the ball, the Heat are definitely a top two team in the league. They have two of the five best players in the league, and probably 3 of the top 15.  I'd be interesting to see with a fully healthy Blazer squad how we'd match up... because we have a lot better post players than they do.
And don't forget, it wont be easy for MIA to just walk through the east... They will have to get through Magic, Celtics, Hawks, Knicks, and Bucks... not that all those teams are as good as them, but its a long season... and anything can happen  with health (like we saw last year)

No title in Miami.  The two most important positions, PG and C, are occupied by "fill-ins" for lack of a better term.  Without dominant INSIDE play at both ends, title hopes are just that...hopes.  All three of those guys are, and always have been, lower the head...put the ball on the floor...and create for yourself, type players.  Only one ball.  Wade, much like Roy, can initiate the offense.  However, just like Roy, when initiating...you're likely not finishing-so the "big 3" become the "big 2".  Chalmers may as well sit down at midcourt or stay back for defense.  Shooter to help keep defenses honest?  Miller?  Are you kidding me?!  He, at the end of his career is as valuable to his team as is Babbitt to ours, at the BEGINNING of his career.  Pack in the D and make somebody beat you from the perimeter.  Interesting dynamics.  The Miami Heat are nothing more than an experiment.  I for one am hoping that experiment fails.  Shout out to Juwan though!

Just as Hawes said, injuries or foul trouble spell disaster for that squad as well.

No offense BDawg, but how can you put this in a post .. And expect to be taken as some one who is being unbiased ..

    You can not.

The Heat pose more issues then you and from what I am see'ing alotta other poster's care to admit. Due to your hate for the team. I am no fan of the Heat, but to say they are nothing more then an experiment .. thats about as far from the truth as one can get ..

Forgot to point out the last couple of NBA Champions have no real PG on the team what so ever .. yet they are the champions ..

So the Heat not having a PG .. should not pose that much of a problem .. especially with the likes of Wade and James taking care of that very aspect of the offense as it is ..

No offense taken.  Let me clarify.

By experiment, I meant "unprecedented"...as in, never before has a collection of elite players, in any sport, conspired to unite, forming their own "power" team in hopes of swaying the odds in their favor to win one or more championships.  In this regard, the Miami Heat ARE an experiment.  I apologize for any confusion I may have inadvertently caused.

Three superstars, 82 games, possibly more. I personally cant wait for the season to start. I like our chances against this new found Big Three. These guys can never take a break. Can never sustain injuries. Can never come off the floor at the same time, except for blowouts, and those are going to be few and far between. Everyone and their mom is going to be gunning for the Miami Three. They've got to bring their A game every night. Every night! I dont doubt their skill, i doubt their stamina. It cost to be the man. If they had D. Williams at pg, and lets say, hell even Brendan Haywood, Id be at David Sterns house picketing this injustice. No question, their going to be nice,  but Championship ?

Miami signing James, Bosh, & Wade, was a good move. However, that is all they have.
I'd take 1 great player, and a roster full of good players over the Heats roster any day.
They'll be good, simply because they have those 3 great players, but they wont be as
great as everybody's hyped them up to be IMO. A championship in reach? Sure, but after
Phil Jackson's gone, and they don't have to fight the Lakers for it.

The Miami Heats sucess all depends on egos. This is not an experiment Celtics did it 4 years ago allbeit Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett were at the end of their career's but still formidble. The Rockets did it how many years ago? Now I know that these guys careers are nowhere near the end and I think that is what Lebron was trying to do. But he did not do it gracefully to say the least. The one thing that they got in their favor, despite the obvious, is that there is one more ego on that team that is bigger than all 3 of them put together and he knows how to handle ego's, Pat Riley. So even though there is nothing more than I would like to see the Miami Heat to be a lottery team next year, I am pretty sure they are playing for the championship. Anything else will be a failure.

I have to disagree that other than the big 3, the rest are garbage. I will go on record again that imo, Chalmers is a gem in the rough.
I still don't believe the Heat are automatically champions though. There is only one ball, and a lot of ego.

^^Note I said 3 great players (Which C. Bosh isn't really that great, IMO) and a few GOOD players, as in J. Howard, M. Miller, M. Chalmers. But outside of them, who does the heat have that really poses a threat? They wil definitely win a championship or two, maybe, and a BIG maybe 3 in their "Big 3 era" but I highly doubt they will dominate it like the Lakers in the 2000's or the Bulls in the 90's. They will have to acquire a way better/younger bench in order to dominate like MJ, or Kobe have with their teams. I think that Wade is the only one TRULY willing to sacrifice the spotlight to win. C. Bosh made it clear he wanted a team built around him, and Lebron has led the Cavs for since coming to the NBA. We'll see how it turns out. Honestly, I can't wait for the season to start though. So much to look forward to. I can't wait to see how the Blazers do with a healthy roster, or watch the Bulls & Heat come up with their newly improved rosters. PS. With the all the attention from the heat has anybody seen the Bulls? I think they are looking GREAT and hope they smash the Heat in the ECF! lol

Zydrunas Ilkasgus got caught with weed?
No, if you thought Haslem was finna start at center, you are trippppppeennnnn.

Alright.  You all should just hold on right quick and let me dish it out.

The Miami heat could of signed Magic and Jordan and they still would have provved nothing. No one has seen these guys really play yet, i mean we've seen em in all star games, but thats not what im talking about. About running an offense, playing together as a big 3. Now BDawg is shootin on these guysh for no reason.
These guys are not "lower in the head", these guys are superstars, alright? Theye are the cream of the crop and something like this hasnt happened for a while, im talking like Magic playing with Kareem and Wilt coming to LA sort of stuff. They have dominated their positions for the past 4-5 previous years, shoot, all 7 years. LeBron came into the league with the most hype ever over a players, and you know what? He has yet to cease living up to it. Everyday he takes it a little bit further, higher, and continues to piss people off, because honestly you cannot deny this fact, more people want to see him fail. And WTF is that about?

Anyway, with these guys all on the same team you have so many ways of creating on offense, not just by Wade, but excuse me, um hi, LEBRON JAMES! Bosh isnt much of aflashy drive to the lane type of guy, but he pulls his own wieght everynight. What i'm trying to say, that most of you all ready know, is these guys are, from most eyes, the elite of their postions, the top number one SG, SF, and PF. We know theyll all start, yeah duh, but some of you are thinking that theyre only gonna play with each other and not get mixed in with the bench, your mistaken.

Why take all your WMD's out of play when you can always have one in?

Not to mention all the work they did to fill in the spots around them, well idk if you can call it work, right? Juwan Howard didnt even hang up the phone, its still off the hook in his hotel room....
Dissin mike miller, oh thats right because he is such a terrible player, only terrible players win rookie of the year right? with a .405 career 3pt avg, dude what else you want?

However Dwayne wade had said in late july that the Lakers are still number one, weve traded for lebron and bosh, but that doesnt mean anything, we havent even played yet.
