Is this report about GO good news or bad news..?

Should we be happy that he's not being rushed back too early, or concerned that the progress seems a little slow?  I can't decide.

From all reports Greg is ready for 5 on 5 scrimmages .. It is just that Cho himself wants to hold on for a lil while longer . Just an added precaution.

This is my opinion from everything I've heard so far about Oden.

I think its smart to move slow with Oden! However, I think them giving him a starting position is rediculous! Give him 10-15 minutes a night and slowly tack on a few more until late-December/early-January, and if he's still moving at that point, give him a starting position! They're going to ruin this guys career by letting him start! Let that bone FULLY HEAL! Give him some time, and watch him fully grow into the beast he is capable of being!

I just hope my his sake that he can finally play a full season. This is is love, his passion and he hasn't been able to play. It's got to be eating him up inside.

Greg looks so sad in your avatar!  It's probably because of what you said; he's being eaten up inside!

I think sometimes it's easy for us fans to forget that GO is still just a pup...a kid (at least when compared to myself).  If I went thru that whole internet thing and back to back major knee injuries, away from home, while in my early 20's???  Right about now I may be trying to discover for myself how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Lolly Pop.  I suspect the mental and psycological aspects of his rehabilitation are behind the delay as much as anything.  He has got to "re-learn" to trust his legs.  Doubtful many of us can relate to something like that.  I know I can't

Greg would only be Jr in College people ..

Lets not rush ahead of that very important detail ..

He will be fine .. Worst comes to worst he gets injured again this year (doubtful that it would be a season ending injury yet again tho one never knows) Portland could possibly get him under contract for a VERY long time .. at a Bargin .. Then after he comes back he explodes for utter dominance !!

Who know's the future or what it holds, all I know is one Oden starts to exert his will .. Portlands going to be truly the best team out west ..

Good observation earlier on the fact that Oden's just a pup. This kid has so much reshaping and tooling to do mentally for himself. I believe he can do it. I believe he will do it. Im waiting patiently for his edge to develop. That big man savagery. When he is only refered to as ODEN, we'll know. It's time. He's coming.

All this talk of him being a pup and mentality... it's making me think now that he has two path to stardom.  1. He takes that road I always talked about: starting slow, be in the shape of last year by at latest after All-Star break.  2. All this talk planted a new thought in my head: Oden won't be like he was last year... until he's awakened by something.  Maybe playing against OKC?  Going against Dwight?  Hearing too much critics?

I think this season may revolve too much around Greg.  I believe he is a dedicated team player, but, he is NOT a "natural" player and he seems to be too susceptible to injuries.  The answer may be a combo of Joel and Marcus . . . with some occasional "greatness" from others on the bench.  Don't get me wrong, I REALLY want Greg to succeed !!

This year will be Oden's best chance if you ask me from the last couple for him to have a break out year.

    In Oden I trust !!

Don't forget, this is a contract year for Greg, providing him a relative buffet of motivation

Nobody knows what will happen with Oden!!!! We can only hope for the best and plan around the pieces we have. One thing I believe is that we will have trouble consistently scoring in the post this season with Greg or without - this worries me. I wish this off season we could have brought a better post presence to the team. Maybe I'm wrong, but from my angle we do lack a person who get's easy baskets in the low post the last couple of seasons. I know the NBA has changed from a back to the basket center or power forward Game to a guard dominant league, but A team does need some low post 15 point a night player. I hope with the rest of the Blazer fans that Oden can get the health, confidence, PT, and scoring that we need in this position to get deeper in the playoffs. If we don't I see another 1 round bump from the playoffs. I hope I'm wrong and we can do it with great shooting and defense, but the numbers are against this. I wish you well Oden.
