What is your opinion as to what would be the best offensive unit of gathered talent currently on the Blazers roster as of this post ?

If Greg is ready to go I think they should start Roy, Nic, LA, Miller, Camby I say that line up because I believe nate needs to let this team run. Maybe jump on teams early and build a lead. Camby can still run even at his age. we would have a second unit of Johnson, Mathews, Greg, Pentagraph, and dare I say Rudy. the first four providing defense to protect a lead and still push the tempo. me some thoughts on how I'm wrong or right. This all depends if the roster stays as is and rudy plays.

I like this train of thought. Portland has been one of the youngest teams in the league for many year's now .. and I for one think its time that we unleash our young bucks on the league in at least some format of a run an gun styled offense .. Not saying to go all out and completely revamp our team's offense to a run an gun but it would be far better to be able to have some form of that system in place .. then not to ..

I think wether we run or not doesn't matter as much as just US being in control of the tempo, and playing at the pace that will help us on a given night, or even in a given situation. I could be wrong, but it seems to me like the teams that have tried to have an identity of being an up-tempo running offense (Golden State, Phoenix, Dallas a few years ago, etc...) all have something in common. They all are at the bottom of the league in defense, and none of them can win in the playoffs. Just like everybody else, I love to watch that style of basketball - but if Nate has done one thing right - he HAS controlled the tempo. Other teams play at our tempo, and that's how you control games. I don't think our offensive style is perfect, but I wouldn't trade it for Don Nelson, Mike D'Antoni, or Paul Westphal's systems.

Very astute points.  I would add that Portland HAS taken the necessary steps to increase pace while not sacrificing control.  Defense.  With shot blockers (alternators/changers) healthy and a revamped perimeter defense, our Blazer team will be taking the ball out of the net to start possession far less often this season, pushing the pace.  Easy baskets have been few and far between in seasons past.  With opponents FG% dropping, look for Portland's to climb.

Bayless, Roy, Batum, LA, Oden (strictly offense)

Bayless would be a good idea for the all-offense unit, but a huge part of offense is it's efficiency, which I think Bayless slightly inhibits.

The thing is that fast break points are not after a made shot, they come after good defense and a team turns over the ball or or takes a bad shot and is out of position to to defend the fast break. If this team would work on defense those fast break chances will come, but it starts with good defense.

Roy, Mathews, Batum, Aldridge, Oden.  That actually wouldnt be that bad of a defensive lineup too since they have Mathews, Batum and Oden in there.

Matthews, Roy, Batum, Aldridge, Oden. Is it interesting that only three responses want miller starting? I think we go with Oden, until he either reinjures or proves he can't do it. He is the future, and needs that starting spot.

    Seas.

imo the best offensive would be

    miller
    roy
    matthews
    aldridge
    oden

Miller over Bayless because whenever Bayless is in, yeah he gets his shot up, but no one else does. Miller is much better at running the team plus he can create his own shot by driving in when needed.
Right now I think Matthews barely edges out Batum offensively because Batum has been told to tone it down on offense, and sometimes he looks confused as to whether he should attack or drive and dish or shoot, whereas I don't think Wes had that restriction as much as Batum. I don't blame Batum for that either, I think he will find his place soon though, especially when getting more minutes (Nate!!!).
    Roy is obvious
    Aldridge is obvious and
    Oden is obvious.

    Seas, would be season
pre seas, would be pre season, cmon wheres that flashy naive intellect @?
Roy said that Oden would not be starting.
like idk if you watched that video or not, but he for sure said, "without oden or joel for a little bit"
or actually they said "what about joel and oden"
and he said "we will miss them for a little bit"

Who said to tone it down for Nic?
According to Kassandra "Batum has been encouraged to, and promised more time on offense this year"
So you might want to talk to her about that, because you guys are not on the same page.

Are you freakin stupid or what? I did not ask what seas or pre seas meant. I was answering your danm question idiot. They both will miss the start of the season. You can't even understand your own dialect.
As our team stands, if everyone were healthy that is what I think would be the best offensive team. Anyone could get hurt at any time so I went with who is on the roster, not who is cleared to play.

Oh and last year there was a notable story of how Coach Monty told Batum to quit trying so hard to get his own shot so much, to play defense and his offense will come because he was our 4th or 5th option. As far as what Kassandra said, I don't keep a journal on it like you, but if you are quoting it, I'm not sure of the validity. If she did say that, who cares any way? She was probably talking about him being our main man at SF, and being that, I'm sure he will get more chances on offense because he was only playing like 20 minutes a game last year and Marty and Outlaw aren't here breathing down his neck.

No Oden, No Pryz, No camby. Pre- and probably into the season as well will most likely be, Pendy and L.A. alternating duty at the pivot. We may even see an occasional Dante sighting at center, dependant upon matchups. What we are certainly going to see is a much better defense. I love this kid Matthews. His kind of play is contagious. When Pryz is in the game for us the defense is crazy nice. Imagine he and Matthews, plus Batum,Armon and L.A. on the floor. We are very dangerous right now.
