I think the blazers are trying to make a trade for a quality point guard. Thats why rudy hasnt been traded yet. The blazers want to package him and proably miller and joel for a starting point guard. I think New jersey  might be involved. Just a thought what if we  through in  Oden and took lopez and harris that would be a great  starting 5 for blazers.

I want greg to have  a breakout year Im thinking this may be His year.New Jersey wouldnt trade for Greg any way,but I love His game.If greg gets a serious injury it could be over for Him. I bet they play Him 10 to 15 minutes a game  for first 2 months.

Yeah, a big trade really is the only logical reason why we still have Rudy.  Never thought about getting Harris and Lopez before.  That's not a bad idea.  I really like Lopez's game, and if he stayed in the East, he'd probably be an all-star next season.  My only problem with Harris is that he's a shoot-first PG, and we have Brandon Roy.  That's why we need a PG more like Andre or Steve Blake, who average between 12-15 PPG, not up at the 16-20 range.  Plus, Harris has been an all-star, so he probably has high expectations of being much more than a role player.  I'd be fine if he was a little more than that, but it will ultimately mean less shot attempts for Roy.

The Nets have made it clear that Lopez is off-limits... where else could we find a quality point guard?  What about Calderon?  Isn't he on the block?

My honest opinion about as near a perfect fit for a PG as Portland needs for our offense (which is centered around Roy and Aldridge) would be some one like .. Mo Williams.

Decent scorer, better then average passer .. can create his own shot when needed to .. (or if plays break down) and is a good vet.

We basically only need a PG by name. If we were smart we would have Patty and Johnson battle it out for the starting position .. and have the other as the backup .. you can not go wrong in that situation.

Johnson is a 6'3 inch Pg with the Strength and wingspan (6'8 inch wingspan) to defend either guard position.

Patty is fast enough to be an Aaron Brooks type offensive player .. with quick hands and fast feet he might be able to get alotta steals ..

Package Fernandez, Manilla Gorilla and Miller along with a possible draft selection and cash considerations for anything we may feel we need by trade deadline ..

And I think that Portland will be set up in such a way as we will make the WCF's or even the Finals this year or next .. (and then for the foreseeable future as well..)

JRue Holiday is caca, keep him. Dev Harris on the otherhand i've said since last year when my handle was KingRudolphe @ i am a trail blazers fan. Im still pissed about not being able to retrieve some of my established acquaintances. Anywho. Miller and Fernandez should be sufficient. Hell, throw in Mills. But The Vanilla Gorilla stays. I'll even sweeten the pot with Pendergraph, but Joel is a keeper. He is the defensive pulse of our squad. Our defense plays better because of his presence alone. They even seem to be able to defensively guide opponents in to his path on purpose.
Patty Mills' defense is as suspect as a fat kid in a bakery with half eaten cakes strewn about. He is quick, but he's also more streaky than he is consistent. Armon however is a keeper. Solid D, pick & roll mastery, moves his feet, and get this, wants to be a Blazer.

It would be nice to have Brook here to play against his brother in Phoenix. Wouldnt that be a hell of an opening to the season?

Jose calderon would fit in well on offense but he is one of the worst(mod edit-watch language) defensive pg's in the entire nba so I wouldnt go after him.  Same with Williams.  Both would be good backups for andre but I dont see them accepting a backup role.  I think Harris would be an upgrade over andre but we should only trade for him if we can get someone like Lopez along with him or if we run out of any better options at pg.  Getting Jrue Holliday on the other hand I think could actually be a very smart trade.  He is cheap and brings above average d and effort and is also a solid three point shooter and passer which is what the blazers need at pg.  Another plus with getting Holliday would be that the Blazers could still keep Miller with that trade and just eventually groom Holliday to become the starting pg.  I would take a trade like Bayless, and Rudy for Holliday and Jason Smith any day if the sixers agreed to that deal or a similar one.
I am a fan of the Blazers draft selections. Feels good to finally be able to say that

Mo Williams? Over Miller? Did you even watch Mo play? Miller is a much better passer, can create his own shot too by driving in and pretty much does everything better except shooting threes. We need someone who can run our offense and know when and where to feed guys like Oden and Lamarcus and when to give it to Brandon, not just shoot! Andre ran our team way better than Mo could. Also if we were smart there is no way Patty or Armon should even be considered to start over Miller yet, that is ridiculous.
Between Patty and Armon I like Armon a little better right now, but I need to see them play against some real NBA competition to know who is better, but I know neither is close to Andre's experience, leadership and his effect of running our offense much better and smoother which was sorely evident many many times last year when he would leave the games and then reenter.
I know you didn't say it directly but to suggest that we trade Miller AND Pryz for Mo is completely asinine.
    Please No Mo!

Yes I've watched mo for the past couple of years. The guy has the skill to pass the rock as well as Miller .. he has for the past couple of years been designated as a scorer by the offense he is in. Portland needs a PG that can space the floors .. Miller can not do this .. Mo can. You guessed it by his 3pt shot alone .. he will make teams have to play straight up defense .. which means advantages for both Roy and Aldridge. Again .. something that Miller can not accomplish.

You have to look at the game more then just "passing" or just "shooting" .. when you figure into the fact that Portland runs the slowest half court offense in the league by several factors. Hence my suggestion that Mo would be the better fit. He would take a hit on the scoring side of his game he is a average defender (much better then Miller is thats for sure)

I have not said to trade Miller and Pryz for mo. I said ..

Package Fernandez, Manilla Gorilla and Miller along with a possible draft selection and cash considerations for anything we may feel we need by trade deadline ..

Which means just what it is intended to mean.

And yes BOTH .. Armon or Patty should be able to take that starting PG slot away from the older slower and not as good shooting Miller .. But Nate is an old school mentality type of coach .. and does not like to play the less experienced players ..

I think we need to get Oden and Aldridge going down low, and that is more important to our teams success than a pg who shoots 3's. Dre is a better fit than Mo imo for that reason. Also Patty and Armon have not proven anything yet! Why would they start over Dre? I think it would be fair to give them the opportunity to prove themselves, but as a backup, then the progression to starter. It would be foolish to have them automatically fight for the starting spot over Andre already. There is this thing called veteran experience and Dre has plenty. Both Patty and Armon are unproven at this point though I do agree Nate may not give them a big enough chance. And no way does Mo come close to the passing ability of Dre. I know they averaged a similar number of assists per game last year, but Andre is much better at passing in traffic towards the basket, where Oden would be.

And I already said you did not say trade Pryz and Dre for Mo directly.

Basically I think with a healthy team and ESPECIALLY a healthy Oden we will see the most benefit out of having Miller.

@Brandon Weinant: Haha, seriously.  Oden is working to be the next Shaq.  There's this highlight of him going on a fast break with Aldridge, and they did a mad give'n'go (It was supposed to be a highlight from last season).  Oden still gotta work on those between the legs, though.
But yeah, keep Oden.  You guys these days are wayyy too impatient.  Oden=Beast.

And sorry guys, I just have to share this old article before Oden got hurt.  I feel like I'm spamming or something.  I put this link on my last two Blazersedge comment.  Showed you that we could have won it all this year... at least I think so..... come on guys, I'm just being optimistic.

Nahh man keep Oden and Rudy. both are gonna kill it next year. Hell Rudy was rookie of the year only a couple seasons ago. both kids still got hella game, and it would be a mistake to judge them just cause they both got injured last season and werent playing the best.

Rudy wasnt ever rookie of the year or even close.  I think it was Derrick Rose who won it that year.  Also I don't see why we would keep someone who is just going to disrupt chemistry.  Also even if Rudy wanted to play here I'm not sure that i'd want him since all he does is jack up threes and play poormod edit, watch the language)d.  We definantly should keep Oden unless we get someone like melo or cp3 in return, but Rudy definantly should get traded.
