    melo to chicago?

The Chicago Bulls are interested in trading for the Denver Nuggets Carmelo Anthony, and are discussing internally including Joakim Noah as part of the deal, according to a league source.

According to the source, the Nuggets are hesitant to take back Luol Deng as part of a deal with the Bulls because Denver is leery of taking on long-term contracts with the collective bargaining agreement set to expire on June 30, 2011. Deng is two years into a six-year, $71 million contract.

Noah will make $3.1 million this season in the fourth year of his rookie deal. He would become a restricted free agent next season unless the Bulls extend his contract.

Yahoo! Sports reported Wednesday that an NBA source with knowledge of Anthony's wishes told him Anthony still hopes to convince Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri to trade him, and he prefers a move to the New York Knicks or Bulls.

I wonder if Cho would try to get in on that as the third party of a three-way deal, sending Fernandez?  We may be able to get more back in a scenario like that.  I doubt that even IF Mello were to force a deal though, it would happen anytime soon, making this point a moot one.  Just a thought

That actually might work out in a huge favor of portland, either getting a expiring contract,, or possibly denvers 1st round. (Not totally sure they have their pick for 2011 or 2012 if anybody can give me a link to read up on current pick possession i would appreciate it) If the Nuggets shop Melo i don't see them making the playoffs with Anderson and Martin injured for the beginning of the season that leaves them fairly thin on their offense even if Noah and Deng were shipped to Denver.  Deng is not an offensive force like Melo and Billups (assuming he isn't included in trades) and Nene are not going to lead their team in points we might have a good deal.  Cho also could get players we don't necessarily need and make the trade to set up a trade i wouldn't mind that scenario either.

I wish people would stop going to espn and finding a story to cut and paste as a post. Be original, have a thought, ask a question that starts a discussion please.

Send him east! It doesn't bother the Blazers if 3-4 elite East teams are fighting it out, we only have to get through the Lakers in the West. Not only would it make the NW and easier division, but that's 4 extra potential wins for us, considering the Nuggets always have our number, especially in Denver. Those extra 2-3 wins could be the difference between home court and not.

Not everybody checks ESPN and some people, myself included, like to have an actual article to discuss and refer to when commenting on, without having to have other windows/tabs open.  I don't really see a problem with it seeing as how it still pertains to basketball and our division.

My point is that fans go to places like espn get info and try to pass it off like they know something. You could have said something like "does all the talk of Melo going east to the bulls make the fans pull more for the trade rather than him staying in the coference with a trade to someone like the clippers?" You did not even ask a question, just cut and pasted an article. Nothing personal, I just like to have a topic to respond too.

I see your point... How about having the "cut-paste" article and having the post question or thoughts below since those are more common in my experience than just a dry "cut-paste" that way everybody wins, we get the article and the discussion topic that the thread should center around

The article was originally from yahoo sports which is 1 of thee if not thee most reliable sources in sports... they seem to know everything that is going on behind the scenes...  and there is a topic to respond to whatever happens to melo directly impacts the blazers and the division in every way...  also remember how the blazers wanted the 1st rounder that chicago has(new orleans 2012 pick) in exchange for rudy?  well that might go to the nuggets.... along with other young pieces like ty gibson

Rookies are fine a team should be able to carry 5 of them easily. The problem with us last year was we had no depth in front of the rookies. Lillard and Leonard as lottery picks should have gotten lots of playing time, which they did. However, Bar...
