It's clear that if the Blazers want to win a championship anytime soon, they will eventually have to take down the Lakers in a playoff series.  Can they do it?

I certainly think it is possible because of our big front line of Camby, Oden, Przybilla and Aldridge.  They would be easily capable of shutting down Bynum, and they could at least slow down Gasol a little.  Plus, Wes Matthews and Batum are as good as anyone at slowing down Kobe.  Defensively, I think we're as good as any other team.

When the Lakers play team defense with intensity, the Blazers will have a hard time scoring.  Fortunately, the Lakers only do that when the game's on the line, and when it is they tend to foul.  We saw that when Kobe fouled Martell and we beat the Lakers without Brandon at Staples.  When the Lakers play their usual defense, Brandon will have no problem scoring on Ron Artest.  We saw it in the 2009 playoffs.  As for Aldridge and Gasol, I'm confident that LaMarcus can score on him.  Gasol will also be able to score on L.A, but the main battle will be rebounding.  Hopefully Camby and Oden can help LaMarcus out, because they're both better than Bynum.

I think the Blazers can beat the Lakers in a playoff series.  Unfortunately, I fear many of the games will come down to the final minute, and we all know Kobe's history of fourth quarters against the Blazers.  It'll take a little luck, but the Blazers have proven over and over the last few seasons that we can beat the Lakers.

Im not worried about the lakers. I respect their accomplishments, but im not worried. The size of our frontline is going to wear alot of people down, which will inevitably turn a lot of teams into jump shooting teams. When that happens, all boards are ours. Bynum hasnt convinced me that he's committed to playing defense. Artest is a step slow and playing D with his hands just a little more. Pao is always a threat. Kobe is Kobe. They've also picked up Barnes & Blake.

And what exactly does that mean? Bupkis. The Lakers bring out the best in us. We dont like their holier than thou swagger. And with Roy the Maestro at the helm, we are not to be taken likely.
It reminds me of when i was a kid back in NYC, collesting comic books. in the back of each one there was a little cartoon piece of a guy named Mac who was kicking sand in this skinny guyds face, while he was kicking it on the beach with his girl. Well the guy picked up a mr.Atlas magazine and started working out, and soon he was huge. Had guns like one of those WWF cats. Well he returns to the beach and knocks this dude Mac, out.  Thats us. We went and got our own Mr.Atlas magazine and we're looking for Mac.

I am a fan of our new roster playing with and for eachother.

The Blazers were the only team to consistently give the Lake show fits last season.  The length and athleticism of this team was, without question, largely responsible.  Remember, the Lakers had problems with a Blazer team without Oden for most of the season, and prior to the acquisitions of Camby and Matthews.  Their reign of tyranny and dominance over the western conference is about to come to an end, and they know it.  This will be Phil Jackson's last dance as well.

With Oden, yes. Without the big fella, unfortunately not yet. Oden would give this team a sizable advantage down low, over Bynum and we'd be able to control the game in the interior.

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
