Will a thinner, quicker Brandon Roy dominate the league this year? Or will he just be less effective at driving to the hole?

I think a leaner and buffer frame will help Roy drive to the basket because he'll be quicker (a category in which he's not exactly among the league's best), and he'll find it easier to weave in and out of low post defenders.  However, it all depends on his mindset.  If he's thinner, the opportunity to drive is there, but he has to consistently take that opportunity, or else he'll always settle for his jump shot.  Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing, but he's unquestionably more effective when he drives, not when he shoots.

I agree HG. Height and weight proportionism is essential to athletic longevity.just ask Oden. He had actually gotten to big for himself, as opposed to letting himself grow into shape. Brandon is a beast, and i trust that he knows whats best for him. He knows what needs to be polished about his game. When the unquestionable leader of a squad strives to get better, you would only hope that the likes of Aldridge,Oden,Bayless, and some more guys that we have faith in, step their game up. We waited on Martel and he consistently hovered around the mediocre. Not what we needed. We were hoping that he could be, well... Batum actually, but it never materialized.

Brandon's game and head are together, he'll be fine and outstanding as usual.

Brandon Roy is a leader, the likes of which this franchise has never before been blessed with.  His offseason regimen is just one of many examples of said leadership.  My only concern for BRoy is his body's ability to absorb the blows delivered in the paint over an 82 game schedule.  This is what you sacrifice when going lean.  It's a trade off.  The Blazers cannot afford for Roy to shy away from the paint either.  I am hopeful that Roy will show all of us that these concerns are not valid ones come November.  Like most, I am anxiously awaiting the debut of "the New and Improved Brandon Roy".

If the thread said Babbitt beat some brothers you all would be expecting a hate crime. I do not see why this is a big deal. Police beat their wives daily and we do not have a thread about that and that is a real issue plaguing society.

I completely agree he could be that voice on the court we need. Lamarcus just isn''t that guy and Damian can learn some on court leadership from him. A small lineup when we need a score bad of Dame, Wes, Paul, Nic, and Lamarcus would be potent.

I would agree Harris seems more dynamic but Harkless looks pretty good as well.
