Could Ricky Rubio be pried from the Wolves? It'd makes sure you have a PG who could be the PG of the future. Might also give Rudy a reason to stay,

This could be an insane, senseless thought, but I'm just interested in people's opinions. Maybe you're TOTALLY different from mine. If you think I'm dumb for bringing it up, I'll admit, maybe I am.

I believe Rudy to be one of the MOST talented players I've ever had the opportunity to watch play.  However, I do NOT believe that the NBA is the place for him to best showcase his abilities.  He is too slight of frame for the physical play of our league.  Rubio is exactly the same way, VERY talented, gifted even...but too small.  One foul, "the foul", may have ended Rudy's game...at least here in the states.  His back will now be a reoccurring nightmarish reminder of what he once was, likely never again being 100%.  I wish him the best

I still believe there is hope with Rudy. If someone can show Rudy what a valuable piece he can be with this team, I believe he can recover and gain some sensibility. [THIS IS NOT AN ANTI-RUDY THREAD.] I think we all know which foul you're talking about (Ariza). And it's obvious he hasn't been the same since. Think he'd fly back to Espana and play WITH Ricky?
(Please note that I know that this whole scenario is less likely to happen than Mike Rice not dissing ref's. Or the Cav's owner's statement coming true. I'm just playing around.)

I am also of the mindset that Rudy and Portland can still pull this thing out .. (Least I hope so)

I've been a Rubio fan for the past 3 years now .. and along with Bron, Rubio will be one of my favorite none Blazer players in the league ..

If there is any way Portland can pluck Rubio from the Wolves .. I'd support it so long as it does not involve Roy, LMA, Batum, Oden or Camby ..

Anyone else in my honest opinion is fair game for a trade scenario along with possible draft picks and cash considerations..

Rubio alongside Roy and Batum .. would straight be nasty ..

And as for his slight frame .. one has to remember the kid's been playing in a MAN's league since he was 14 .. if he can take the hits as a teenage from a grown man's league .. back then .. I have no doubt he could play in the NBA ..

Well, now last year, didnt rubio pull out of the draft at the last second?
Whats to stop him from doing it again?
    Or shaving that stache'?

He didnt pull out of the draft... He was picked at no. 5 if i remember correctly. The issue was regarding his contract with his existing team. The buyout clause was too expensive for him, even with the salary and sponsorship. His has a player option this year i think and the year after, but i hear he wont opt out until the year after.

I dont think RR is going to play in a small market club, not that i classify portland as such. But id probably think by the time he comes to the nba, look for clubs like LA to pick him up

Ricky Rubio is all hype if you ask me. I have seen him play several times and while he is a good passer he is also soft on the defensive end and is not a good shooter. The PG in today's game would eat him alive on a nightly basis. In order for him to succeed in the league,  he would have to be in a uptempo offense like Golden State or NY Knicks.

Yeah I think he would pull a Rudy Fernandez in a year if he even came here. After seeing what is happening with Rudy, and after hearing the rumors that Ricky wouldn't play if he were to be drafted by the Timberwolves, I don't think he'd even come here if he had to. Especially if what Rudy says is true, that he has been promised things that have been ignored, I'm sure he'll tell Rubio all about it.

No Rubio can not be pried away from the Wolves. He is all they have to hold on to in terms of having a future at all. I still don't buy the fact he'll ever live up to the hype. He's really weak physically and we all saw how easily Rose went around him time after time. Also, on the offensive end, he needs to learn to make the correct play instead of always going for the flashy one. His jumper has improved but as of right now, he's more White Chocolate than Steve Nash or 'Pistol' Peter.

True, but you have to remember Minny gave Darko Milicic a 4/$20m contract. Anything's possible with them lol

His defense is already better than Nash's. He picked Rose's pocket a couple of times and I thought played pretty good aggressive D except for those few times he got too aggressive and Rose went around him. I don't know why everyone says he has no defense. On offense he definitely needs to learn how to make the correct play, right now he is going for flashy and turns the ball over. It seems like he's been a pro for a long time and should know better but  keep in mind he's only 19. I also don't think he is that weak physically. He's not 17 any more. Rudy is what I would call weak.

Anyway, I still think there is no chance we get him.

The problem with JJ remains the same at the 4 or 5 he is just not a good enough defender. Milsap and especially Smith are good defenders. The also both offer more on the offensive side than JJ does.

Exactamundo. Seriously though, both of you''ll are right. The blame should be placed on the attacker, not Lillard. That being said, Dame should have stepped in.

I completely agree. Pierce would bring a culture change. And we as a team really needed someone to help our young players through the tough times. Jeffires and Pavlovic were veterans who didn''t see much court time and from what I saw didn''t real...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
