No, we need a passing point guard. AI is too selfish and would ruin the entire offense.

AI? in Portland? you think he'd want that? yeah he and andre played together, but really? AI in Portland? He, like Shaq, thinks he can still be the king of the offense. Maybe he can, but he hasn't shown it. If I'm AI, I"m staying in Philly if I can; go out like Scottie Pippen.

What is wrong with some people? Why would we even consider AI? He would have to start every game he is not injured or on a family emergency and he would shoot us out of every game and play no defense, then if Nate made him come off the bench (like he should) he would whine and complain the whole time.

Besides, look at what happened to the Sixers when Andre Miller left for us. Then look at what happened to the Sixers when Iverson came back.

Ai would never accept such a position with such expectations ..

AI would want to simply take over the offense ..

He is known as a team cancer for a reason .. I for one would vote no on Prop :A.I.

He is a damn good POINT GAURD. and i think that is the point that your all forgetting. Not to mention he has alot of playing year under his belt, and great playoff XP. 29.ppg 6.apg almost 4 rpg, damn thats super legit for a 6footer.
He is not a team cancer, other wise he wouldn't of played on the same team for damn near 10 years. So im missing the logic on that. He isnt the type of guy who goes out there and shoots his team into a scoring coma, He doesnt do the Kobe Bryant. Iverson has been known to take shots, but he also is known for those AND1's.

Now what you do, is let one of these new cats go, cuz theres too many people in that back court, You sign AI for a 1 year deal, have him and Miller duel for a bit in Pre Season, but i think youll find out AI would start the season.
    "Why would he come here?"
Well you guys boast a decent deal about your team, maybe Blazers ant good enough to coax a red hot Super Star like Mello to come over, but a Shining Star who's on his way out, i think that Portland could do that. you've got a solid lineup, except for the point, i think theres been more talk and debate about that on this website than in the actual coaches office.

The pieces are all in play except for one for this Blazers team to head into the season with the division by the horns, i believe they should track down that missing piece in Allen Iverson.

I think the days of AI putting up numbers like the above mentioned is over. His style of play, required him to be so much quicker than everyone else and take a lot of contact, and during his prime he got knocked around a hell of a lot (no doubting hes one tough dude). But i think all of those bumps and bruises and adding that hes older and a bit slower has contributed to the decline we all see. Unfortunately it seems like his ego hasn't regressed like his skill, and he still believes he should be a first or second option on most teams. This was evident when he signed with the Griz, and couldn't accept playing behind a young developing pg in Conley. Although i do respect what hes don't in the past, HE IS DEFINITELY NOT 'THE ANSWER' HERE IN PORTLAND!
I am a fan of seeing an uptempo Blazers squad!

What is happening here, do we have to much time on our hands to even consider a person like A.I. in portland. A.I. was awesome some yrs ago but now ???? don't you guys remember last season, PROBLEMS, PROBLEMS, PROBLEMS, he had problems on every front, home/job, mental etc. To even suggest A.I. over Miller ( A good solid P.G.)  is weird at best. This will never Happen and if it does it would be pure DRAMA.

When AI had his best years it was at the 2gaurd spot.

When the sixers went to the finals in 2001.

Eric Snow, Kevin Ollie, and Aaron Mckie ran the point for that team.
(note Aaron Mckie only ran it because Eric Snow suffered a foot fracture when he stepped on Sam Cassel in game 4 of the Eastern conference Finals against Milwaukee)

But AI is not, and will never be a Point Guard. Sure he played it... But how did those teams fair when he was in his prime????

Now that hes no longer in his prime.............................. ....... ......
    ........
    .......

     .....

I will take Dre over AI. Dre proved himself last year.
    Iverson? what did he do?
    Complain....

which is sad... because iverson IS my favorite player. :(

I am a fan of defence.

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
