Everybody remembers Shaq in his prime. Goes in deep, sets up in the low post without the ball, toss it in to him, if he has a dunk he takes it, if not he kicks it back out, repositions, and they toss it back in. When the defense would collapse, open shots were everywhere. After Sabobonis left, stopping Shaq was impossible. To some extent, Yao, Dwight, even some 4's like Boozer can do that. We used to use Zach like that a little bit. Those baskets are there when your shots won't go in. We need a scorer like that. Camby and Aldridge like to face the basket. Seems like Aldridge ALWAYS takes the first shot, and we run a hand full of iso's for him every game. They always end up being jumpers or that hook. Joel can't even catch the ball, let alone shoot it. I'm hoping Oden is that guy, because he has NO touch at all. He needs dunks. Nobody else on our roster is even in that discussion. Am I the only one that thinks that's a huge deficiency with this team? I truly believe that that is exactly the reason Oden won the Oden/Durant debate. Overall, I love this team. Defensively they're going to be incredible. I just think to be consistant and put up 55+ records and win a championship, we need an inside out game. Is that an important piece we should be looking for in trades or FA's?

I think Charles Barkley agrees with you Jason.
I am waiting for Oden to play an entire season before I start putting pressure on him to score.
At this point, Odens offense is clean the glass and dunk it home.  His presence alone changes the defense, offense should come when he has played enough to gel with Roy,Nic and LA.

ugh. i forgot about chuck... he does say that kind of stuff. i was thinking about michael holton. he's always talking about it too. it's so true and obvious. we have to start to play like that. btw - oden may never score like durant, but if he can bring that he'll bring us more wins than durant ever would have (imo).

Agreed.  Durant would not score like he does in OKC with Roy and LA on his team. His defense is questionable, and he will NOT score on the Blazers, like he does everyone else with Nic and Wesley guarding him.

Once again, patience with Oden, hopefully it's coming .

p.s. this is why our offense stalls and everybody critisizes Nate's offense and why we see so much zone D.

Didnt OKC get ousted in the first round also? And dont we handle L.A. better than anyone? As for  Oden vs Durant, i picked Oden in that draft also so i wont even begin defending how you cant coach 7' Beast. Our team has heart, i pray for our health for an entire season. This is not the squad of old where teams didnt bother to prepare for us. Our core four are getting more seasoned, refined, experienced and hopefully pissed at being bounced in the first round. I cant wait for the season to start.

Furthermore, i dont care who you are, you had better respect the Oden/Camby pivot. Anger us, and we'll put them on the floor together. Take flight in my building if you dare.

Oh yeah, no doubt the paint is off limits in P-town this year. Are WE going to be able to score there though? When are WE going to get that going? Is the personnel here to do it? To be honest, right now I think our best low block scorer may be Brandon!
