Pacers Rookie Charged With Assault

     Lance Stephenson was charged with pushing his girlfriend down a flight of stairs, police said.

    Stephenson roughed up Jasmine Williams, 21, in the stairwell of her Brooklyn apartment building at about 5 a.m., according to police.

    Stephenson's blows sent Williams tumbling head-first down 10 steps, requiring her to be treated at a hospital for injuries to her head and neck, cops said.

    Stephenson was charged with third-degree assault. He was awaiting arraignment on Saturday night.
    Truly hope the lady ends up alright and unharmed when all is said and done. I guess this was why he fell out of the first round all the way down to #40. I just feel really bad for the Pacers fans. They've been through a rough patch with their team image, similar to what we went through a decade ago. Again, we'll need to wait till all the details surface (maybe she threatened him with a weapon?) but as it stands, it doesn't bode well for Stephenson, a player already trying to repair his image from high school where he faced groping charges. A 5* recruit out of Lincoln High in Coney Island (Bassy's old stomping grounds), he was lucky that Cincinnati took him in, because a lot of schools shied away from him. I hope he can turn his life around, but this looks like the norm rather than the exception from the outside looking in.

    You''re right. They should dump Monta though. I was thinking maybe the Rockets could use the number 1 pick to get the lakers to do a sign and trade for D12.
