Discovery69 over at ClubBlazers usually is on top of things and he posted these interesting tidbits:
I heard Miami and Orlando are back talking to Portland again.

Miami is rumored to be offering Mario Chalmers (PG) and Drexler Pittman (C) for Rudy.

Orlando is rumored to be offering Daniel Orton & future 1st for Rudy & Portland 2nd.

I would be surprised if Rudy ends up at Miami. For Orlando if they are offering Daniel Orton, he maybe an interesting player to bring over and learn from Camby.

I would hope that Cho is talking to Sacramento as the Kings are looking for another SG.
Neither package does anything for me personally. We don't need another point guard (Chlamers) or taking on another player unless Pittman is waived. Also, I would simply refuse to deal with the Heat :)
the Orlando package is VERY interesting, but I would raise questions as to why Orlando would already be giving up on Orton? Do they know something we don't about him? What are your thoughts?

I wouldn't be thrilled, but I would do either one of those deals. I always liked Chalmers (although I thought he would be better than he is), and there is more for Orton to do here than Rudy anyway, so how does it really hurt if he doesn't want to be here anyway? Rudy's gonna be pissed being buried on either one of those benches though.

Hawes, I couldn't agree with you more.  Orton being THAT available so soon after the draft?  Very suspicious.  That said though, didn't WE reportedly have interest in him leading up to draft night?  The other deals do absolutely NOTHING for me as they appear on paper and at face value.

did none of you watch Orlando summer league? I kept posting that it was free with comcast on NBAtv, Orton was TERRIBLE. He was injury prone and had a very minor role on that Kentucky team, and he looked horrible in every way in Orlando's summer league. Still, I may pull the trigger on that one, because he's a cheap contract and a position we could actually use a little more depth at, the only thing is this guy has Tweener written all over him, he's not really big enough to play the 5 in the NBA, and he has less of a skill set than Amoundson at the offensive 4.

id take the miami deal because like shuttlesworth i think chalmers is underated and would fit well in portland, althouhg if we were to do that deal it would mean that the blazers would have 5 point gaurds so they would probably have to trade both miller and bayless in a seperate deal if they went through with this one.  Also I like the rumored rudy and Aldridge to Atlanta for Williams and Horford deal a lot more than I like either of these deals.

I don't like either trade, but having Chalmers might move Bayless to SG to fill Rudy's spot.  Still with Matthews it means we have too many guys on the wing.  If we trade Rudy and Bayless to a low-end team, we could get a good player and a future top 10 draft pick, where we could get our PG for the future.

Such as Rudy/Bayless/First Rounder for Jarrett Jack and Toronto's 1st rounder.  (sorry for double post)

Ray Allen is really only underrated in the viewer's perspective. You don't become an Olympic Gold Medalist an All-Star by not being valued. I would still prefer the Orlando deal because bigmen are a premium and two of ours were injured last season so the coming year is syill auestion. That said, if the guy seems pretty decent it does raise some questions because Orlando is pretty shallow in the post.

Rookies are fine a team should be able to carry 5 of them easily. The problem with us last year was we had no depth in front of the rookies. Lillard and Leonard as lottery picks should have gotten lots of playing time, which they did. However, Bar...
