I like Ellis in a Blazer uniform as a player, but not sure that Monta Ellis THE PERSON, meets the criteria here in terms of culture.  Further, I would be concerned about chemistry issues as well.  In terms of strictly skill set though, having a Monta Ellis on the roster would definately improve this team, no question

Ellis is too much of a scorer .. he is not the type of PG Portland needs/requires ..

Ellis would not help the blazers but hinder them due to that very fact .

The only way you can justify Ellis in a large contract is if he is the focal point of the offense rather then Roy .. or Aldridge ..

Ellis would be a good PG in Portland, but he can not play off the ball very well and that is what limits his game in my honest opinion. With the ball Ellis is as good as nearly anyone in the league .. with out it .. he just disappears ..

I vote no Ellis would not be a good addition to the Blazer team.

i think the only reason he scores a lot is that he plays on a horrible team that only has a 7 or 8 man rotation and plays no D. On a playoff team he would just bring the team down.

ellis is a beast u can't say he won't fit for the simple fact that the blazers have never ever had a pg with all his ability. he is actually the type of pg we need. and your wrong when u say he is not a spot up shooter and that he doesn't move well without the ball... thats is exactly what he is good at... imagine a defense having to game plan for the double threat of ellis and roy in the back court if u double either 1 the shot is left wide open and they would both knock it down.  u guys have to remember ellis was drafted to be a pg and has been a pg but with the team having no one else to score he has had to carry that team on his back until steven jackson came along then steven got traded then they drafted curry... he has never had a stable situation there in golden state. the day he is on another team you will see his true talents.... i myself believe he'd be a steal for us

Guess your too young to remember Rod Strickland ..

Rod had all the scoring ability (and better passing) then Ellis ..

The Blazers already have players that the other team has to plan for the double threat .. Roy and Rudy ..

Unfortunatly .. Rudy has lost his game somewhere .. and Rudy an Roy played extremely limited minutes together .. but that duo together when their on is something We Blazer fans have never seen (yet) ..

And that completely boggles my mind ..

Fernandez scored 13pts .. in 6 minutes .. with Kobe Bryant all over him nearly single handedly bringing spain to a come from behind win in the Gold medal game of the Olympics .. and is a European League MVP (multiple times) the guy either has to find his game .. or head outta town ..

If Nate simply allowed Roy and Rudy to gather minutes up together and learn each others games .. this team would be absolutely insane ..

the fact is rudy is gone. he already burnt his bridge ain't no coming back for him. and also TEAMS KNOW ANDRE MILLER IS NO THREAT FROM MID-RANGE TO THE PERIMETER HE HAS NO SHOT!!! so teams can double team our bigs down low without having to run back and play andre miller when they kick it back out to him... they can all just clog up the middle which we seen in the playoffs. i'm sorry but what did andre do in the playoffs? nothing at all. and yes i remember strickland his talents put andre to shame... i rather bring him out of retirement than to watch us lose another playoff series with andre "never worked on my jumpshot" miller...  idc if its ellis or mo williams or we go with 1 of our rookies but andre miller is not the answer and i don't see him last thru the trade deadline

i think he'd be a scoring upgrade but would he be a passer? because with no shooters on GS i just havent seen it. also i wonder how happy he would be with his scoring being significantly lowered.

then what Point Guard we have a chance of getting then (CP3 is out because i think with no collison and ariza coming well its kinda locked) Because we need a PG now Miller is getting old Bayless is overrated he cant pass worth s**t and idk about Armon Johnson i think we need a scoring PG thats y i thought Ellis because blazers are a good defenceive team now but on offence its to me basically all Roy and Alridge sometimes Miller and Batum

People can change bro. Ellis only scores alot because the rest of his team cant.
T mac was considering taking a bench role to play on the heat, and then on chicago, the same with AI.
If you put ellis on a team where he doesnt need to be Kobe Bryant, then it works. Play the team like the celtics, theres not just one player whos better than the rest, theyre all pretty decent. ( and im not reffering to their current team, but does include them)
As for the defensive part of the story, idk what to say about that. You cant really teach great D, but you can practice, and if your willing to sacrifice half of your ppg to play on a good team, then you can teach yourself to play D.

@Meese, it is quite ironic. They also just so happen to have the planets best player in Lebron James who leads them in rebounding with just over 8 a game.

Can Portland give Dallas cash considerations for the 13th pick? If so, make the deal and package the 10th and 13th for the 4th or 5th pick and get Oladipo or McLemore or gamble and wait for C.J. McCollum at 10 and grab Hardway at 13. Either way i ...
