It's going to be an amazing year. Different than any we've seen since the '90's. Whether we make another move or not. The Rudy situation is irrelevant. Everybody but Joel is supposedly 100% - we're ready to roll. The injuries of last year were an aborition, not going to ever happen like that again, and it's nothing but a bad memory now. I'm nore excited than I have been in years. Check this out.

    This year we start...

Miller, Roy, Batum, Aldridge, Oden (some will argue Canby). <--That lineup can play both ends of the floor with ANYBODY. Some may play better O... some (I don't know who) may play better D. But the net result in my opinion is as well rounded as anybody in the league.

When our bench comes in, we will still have scoring with Bayless and Mathews, but our defence will be lock down with Mathews, Dante, Pendergraph, and Canby [(or Oden, take your pick) hope I didn't leave anybody out]. <-- I would put our bench up there defensively with anybody, and with some creative substituting, I KNOW we can lock down the paint, harass the perimeter, and still keep things rolling offensively.

Remember last year how we were playing right before Oden got hurt... Then again, how we played when Canby got here? We're going to be extremely tough to beat when we play full strength. Roy and Lamarcus should be peaking now. Batum should contribute more offensively this year. This is a team that can win when they have 'off' nights. That's how the Flakers were last year. Healthy, I can't see this team being stopped before the Western Conference Finals. Beating this team in a 7 game series is going to be extremerly unlikely for all but the Flakers, and they're going to have their hands full with our length and athleticism.

I know this is just pointing out the obvious to most of you, but I thought this place needed a fresh post. I'm just so stoked I couldn't help it. Let's go already! I'm ready to get this thing started!

Camby Man starts. It's certainly Oden's to earn, but earn and learn he must. The bench, wooooo!, let me count the ways. I like the backcourt of Bayless and Matthews.

I like Armon's chances at the point. He wowed at the Summerleague with his on the ball D. And his pick and roll skills arent bad either. To me he's a morph of Jarrett Jack & Greg Anthony. If he develops a solid mid range game like Tony Parkers, he's going to be nasty. I yearn for the day that everyone of our rotation players develop consistent jumpers. That'll keep the D honest and B-Roy can handle his business.

well if reports are true then we will also have pryz for opening night, so our bench could look something like bayless, matthews, babbit, camby, pryz. i dont think there is a better defensive bench in the league but i doubt mcmillan will run a 10 man rotation i can see pryz sitting more just cuz hes been injured and idk how much babbit would even play but i would really really like to see armon crack the rotation but we all know how much mcmillan likes to play rookie pointguards

still im already shaking with excitment when we come out for the opening game! i want to prove all those polls wrong and finish 2 or 3 in the west and make it to the west finals and hopefully the nba finals! this is our year!

Thanks RCV. I'm not that world's greatest speller, but I actually know that. Brain fart I guess... kind of embarrassing though  :(. Anyway, thanks for the help bro... you're cool.

My only concern is too much depth. Yes, it came in handy last year, but I don't think you want to bank on missing more then 300 games due to injury. I think a lot of people forget how sluggish we looked to open the first month and a half and it had a lot to do with having too many players needing minutes to perform. On paper a Joel, Camby, Oden, Aldridge post rotation looks phenomenal, but someone is going to get left out. All of our guys are deserving of minutes and I know they won't cause drama on the bench or in the locker room if they aren't playing enough, but not only do I want the guys to get all the minutes they deserve, I don't want the guys who are playing to be constantly looking over their shoulder to see if they are being benched for a couple of mistakes in a row. On the other hand, I do understand wanting to keep all four due to Greg's past injury history, so it's a toss-up.

I kind of figured we might start a little slow last year with mixing in Andre and Greg. It may have been because of the limited minutes, but I think it was growing pains too. I think we'll get things clicking a little earlier this time. Being too deep IS a problem, but if you have to have one, that's the one I want. If the prob is minutes/rythem, Nate can shorten the lineup. If it's minutes/attitutes, with maybe 1 exception, this team is pure class. I know they'll work everything out behind closed doors and not let it effect the W's. Don't you think?

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...
