I can't seem to get enough basketball during the offseason, so I was forcing myself to give WNBA yet another chance at my (fickle) attention lately on NBAtv. It's still not as exciting as men's basketball, but the competition and skill level is definitely steadily improving. Same with the NBA D-League, although that's more of what I'm hearing than from what I've seen.

So my question is how come Portland doesn't have a team in one of these leagues?

The wnba team didnt work out here.  I wouldn't mind a d league team here. More basketball is more basketball.

I'll pass on the horse race. I hate when the NBA tries to shove the WNBA down NBA fans throats. A D-league franchise would be sweet though.

I think all NBA teams should have their own D-League affiliate, similar to Baseball. I'd like it if basketball had a longer draft, and could form their own minor-league team. It would make it easier to develop players such as Elliot, Babbitt, and make it easier also to bring players back from injury quicker. Let them play a 'rehab' assignment in the Dleague to get their legs back before playing the real thing.

Horse race! HAHAHAHHAH oh god. dude that killed me.
i know its bad, and i dont mean anything by it, but WNBA just doesn't work for me, its like Girl Skaters, or....Male strippers Idk Polar opposites.
But Portland shares the team with Denver and thats seems fair,  i like the way the d league is set up, open try outs every year, its great.
And so many good players have come from it.

But did any of you guys hear about the league they were trying to set up down in the south, it was crazy and i dont know if it went through or not....

Paul Allen said how do we get better?  I see no activity in the draft with no draft picks.  The trade possibilities are limited because of the value of our bench players.  We have no cap space.  So I think the improvement of our b...

First Game starts tonight. Houston is a tough first round opponent and they play exceptionally well at home. If we can steal a game or two at their place, I feel like we have extremely good chances.

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
