Would you be willing to trade Batum if it meant getting Stephen Curry?

i know everones batum lovers, im a fan of him to. but i think we need to get a point guard who fits with the team and brandon roy(and no miller didnt/doesnt fit). i think the only way to get a good point guard would have to be if we traded batum. i meen we got a GOOD defender at the wing this offseason in wesley matthews(and yes he can play small forward, anyone who can guard melo good is a good defender at the 3) and batum is a player that teams would be willing to trade for. i keep it real, nobody is going to trade good a point guard for just a expiring contract, rudy and/or bayless, its just not going to happen. so we have to trade batum to get the point guard everyone wants to see in portland.

i know the the warriors said repeatedly that they wont trade curry and he is their franchise player, but mybe its possible if we give them,

    batum
    bayless and/or rudy
    miller or prz expiring contract
if they want cunningham or pendergraph, but i dont think teams want either as much as some blazers fans think

    for

    stephen curry
biendrins(warriors dont want his contract 9mil per for 4years)
and would be sick if they got reggie williams

dout the warriors would even listen to the offer, but who knows, they got a new owner and i think a new GM, so maybe they want some more defence, and rebuild around ellis instead of curry because ellis is better on D.

That's a coin flip. We gain a point guard who could potentially be the PG we have been looking for, but we also lose a potentially great defense player in Batum.

There is no possibility about the warriors trading Curry. Steph Curry and Tyreke Evans are the best young PG in the game and their upside is through the roof. I agree that the only way of trading for an upgrade over Miller would be to trade Batum and I agree also that Matthews can play the 3. If he play the 3 for Jerry Sloan he can play the 3 for Nate.

NO way no how on Golden State trading their only star but Ellis could be had because both play pretty much the same position.

    na it makes me happy.
but foreal i said that it would'nt happen, but my point was that we need to trade for a good point guard, and trading batum is the only way thats going to happen.
like i said NO team is going to trade away a good point guard for just a expiring contract and rudy and/or bayless, batum has to be involved, and some blazer fans dont get that. they put him along with roy as an untouchable, when he realy isnt.

I'd say no. I see him in the same light as Bayless. He's a provan to be a killer scorer, but he has yet to show he can really run the point.

same as bayless!? wow, bayless hasnt done nothing in this league except show that he's a fish out of water, not saying he wont improve, but saying that he is even close to currys level is just funny. curry can run the point, u must not have seen any games or highlights of him.

bayless is more of a slasher and much more athlethic, he can dunk with the best of them but lacks shooting ability. and curry is a lethal shooter who can hit the shot from any place on the court but does not have the jumping & hopps bayless has. but shooting can be taught if worked on in the early years. if bayless worked on his shooting alot more he'd be  a beast. right now curry is better overall. but. i would not trade the farm or him. i rather stick with andre than trading the farm for an unproven player. golden state was a horrible team last yr. they most likely won't be much better this yr.

why is everybody so obsessed with PGs? we have a ton already. just pick one. and the reason nobody wants to trade batum is because he is only getting better, why would you trade somebody like that if they keep improving at this pace?

while were asking for steph curry why dont we ask for tyreke evans or maybe russell westbrook right? Its fairly useless to speculate on this trade at all because they clearly are the players that are going to be built around for the future. Why do you think Monta didn't want them drafting a guard last year? Now that they have he knows hes not the franchise player and their future. Batum isnt a player in which teams can build around so unless we have a player that can get them an immediate shot at getting the silverware or another player to make the face of the franchise, its not going to happen.

Well said.  I will add that a deal involving Batum may be what is necessary to bring in the caliber of player being sought after right now.  That said, Steph Curry is not only unavailable, I don't believe he IS that caliber player.  A good PG with a high ceiling?  Yes.  A championship caliber PG?  Not even close in my opinion.  He lacks the size I believe is critical in being able to lead a team through three grueling rounds and into the finals.  Outside of Avery Johnson (who had Timmy), I can't think of another PG winning it all who was as small as Curry in the last several years.  Not that a diminutive PG CAN'T get it done...I just believe your chances go down considerably.  Success in the playoffs and winning a title (or several) are on the menu here in Portland now.

wow like i said befor, i was just throwing a name out there that would be a good fit. Like i said, the point of this is to tell blazers fans that they need to stop saying that batum is an untouchable. the  only untouchable is B Roy and Oden, but even then, if someone was willing to throw the right player in a deal for oden, i would do it, that said B Roy is the ONLY untouchable in trades.

Not gonna happen. Case in point. Besides, we've got enough guards. Batum is a keeper unless an MVP candidate is on the horizon. That's it.

Curry is one of the handful of players I would feel alright dealing Batum for, but there's no point in arguing or speculating, because he is their Brandon Roy. You think we value Batum highly, double or triple that perceived value and that is how Curry is thought of in the Warriors' camp.

Anyone remember how clutch, awesome, etc Terry Porter was? Curry is the 2nd coming of TP in my opinion and could be even better. Outside of CP3 or Deron, Curry would be my choice as Point Guard of the Future for this team. Not only can he shoot the lights out, but he showed better than expected point guard skills. The kid is probably the perfect fit next to Roy in the NBA.

I know im going to get $#!t for this but, i would trade Batum for Wright. If he was still with NO
    Perhaps.... Batum, Rudy, Miller for....
Paul and Wright.... but the CP3 leaving NO was a false tale and now Wright is up with the Raptors.

and yet another wild hair up the arse trade scenario. guys really, it's just not going to happen. the truth is, Nate considers Nicolas untouchable and with Cho's background with Nate, Cho will respect that his wishes. Nicolas will not be traded.

currys only problem is he kinda sucks on d.  But then again he was playing for the warriors last year and no one on the warriors plays d so its kind of hard to say if he is actually that bad or if nellie just didn't care if he played d or not.  But i agree with d hawes that he would be an excellent fit next to b roy on offense and the two would compliment each other perfectly because of curry's ability to hit the trey.  Unfortunately though I dont see this happening because i doubt the warriors would give up curry and because im not sure if the blazers would be willing to give up batum.

Dont sleep on what the new kid Armon is bringing to the table. he's got an appetite for the game. Particularly on D. His stroke is going to come around soon enough. Batum is our Scottie Pippen reincarnate. Does any one remember how special Scottie was at the point forward spot. Isht, he revolutionized it. Batum is a humble superstar.  I dont know about you, but i love the idea of Wesley & Batum at the two and three, Camby Man at the four and G.O. at the pivot. Are you kidding me? I can put Bayless at the point and make sure every posession is an eight second violation when the opposition takes the ball out after a made bucket. If i really want to bake your noodle, i'd have Roy Wonder at the point. The rotations are deadly with our squad. Im a fan of dearly departed KP, and i say, lets see if he's the Midas that we all came to know. If by the latter half of January we have taken shape, then we tinker, but Battum stays. just my opinion.
