Clearly, the basketball court isn't the only place Tyreke Evans weaves through traffic at breakneck speed.

A jaw-dropping Memorial Day weekend video, shot from a plane and released Friday, shows the Sacramento Kings star rocketing his purple Mercedes S550 along Interstate 80 past vehicles at up to 130 mph at times, seemingly turning all lanes of the freeway into his personal playground.

The 20-year-old Evans was arrested at the end of that nine-mile romp. The NBA Rookie of the Year winner and owner of a $3.6 million salary issued a quick apology.

"I felt like I wasn't going that fast, but I was," Evans told the Bee at the time. "I've just got to be careful."

Evans pleaded no contest last week to reckless driving and has been sentenced to 80 hours of community service, plus participation in California Highway Patrol teen driving programs, his attorney Bill Portanova said. He said his client would have no comment about the video, which was shot by a CHP officer in a Cessna plane and made public at the request of the news media.

This is just asinine. Do players not remember Bobby Phills of the Hornets? He also was in a speeding race with teammate David Wesley, but unfortunately he lost his life. Its just so frustrating to see people, who seemingly have it all, play their life as if it were a game. Not only that but they are putting other people's lives at risk. Also, his excuse for speeding was down right pathetic. Obviously he doesn't think its a big deal. Although he's a great hoops player, I'm glad he's not a Blazer as I wouldn't want to root for a knucklehead like that.

I kind of suspected this was the real reason he was the first player cut from the USA roster, I didn't buy the mysterious injury that kept him out of practice excuse.

What an idiot. That's what happens when you get YOUNG players and give them a ton of money. Their egos expand beyond belief and they think they're invincible. I'd throw the kid in jail for at least a month to be honest. Teach him a lesson. Doing 130mph with traffic around him is just plain idiotic. Luckily the freeway wasn't that crowded. The Kings sure do got a real classy talent, don't they?

But really? "I didn't notice"? Who believes that anymore? Did he really think everyone else was driving 20 MPH?

He must have forgotten his name. He's TyREKE, not TyRESE. Where the heck are all the patrol cars? It seems so inefficient to just have planes flying overhead. A collision could have easily occurred before any police arrived on scene. What the heck. No wonder California drivers are so bad, they have no freaking police.

Whatever. You people are making a huge deal on him speeding. He's a stupid young man with a fast car. I went from the border of Canada to Portland in about 2 hours, the only reason why this is such a big deal because he's a good NBA player. He'll live and learn either the hard way or with his head. Stop crying about it.

Oh and a side note. If you have ever driven your car more than 35 mph than you are endangering your life. Majority of serious car accidents happen between the speeds of 35-50 mph. SLOW DOWN YOU ARE GOING TO GET HURT!

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
