    These people say otherwise:

FletcherMackel My initial thoughts:CP3 is classy and won't squak, but he aint thrilled. He's not a quitter/crybaby like baron davis, but CP3 aint long for NO
WojYahooNBA Ignore spin out of this Hornets-Chris Paul meeting. He wants out. They don't want to trade him. Nothing's changed, except there's a new GM.

All semantics, but Chris Paul will never directly demand a trade. There's no need; no use. With two years left on deal, he has no leverage.

I know he wants out, but its true he has no leverage right now. But how is NO gunna make any awesome moves to be a solid playoff contender this season? I feel like its gunna be a long rebuilding process around CP3 if they keep him till end of contract. My guess if they wanna keep him till end of contract and by time its up...they will have a good enough supporting cast to tempt him to resign. Teams dont magically win championships over night (I hope Miami bombs!). But I'm not letting the thought of CP3 trades go just yet.

Yeah, I don't think it means chit. They can trade him now and get something for him, or they can let him walk later at get nothing back. From what he said before, it has more to do with the winning than the money - so they have a lot of work to do if they want to resign him. We're ready - we have the team to put around him - AND we have an owner who has proven he has no problem paying the luxury tax if he thinks he's ready to win. So if it's the money, we can find a way to get him payed. All that statement does is makes a situation where teams they are dealing with have to offer more to the Hornets. That's good for Paul and the Hornets, and coincidentally - that's where the statement came from. They have no reason to rush this. I'm staying tuned...

I hear ya Jason. I heard recently from another member who made a post saying he heard on 95.5 the game that NO is only considering one offer....and its from Portland! Which is good news....but players involved have not been mentioned yet. I wanna know what the details were. But yeah NO has no reason to rush, they are gunna let CP3 be shopped by other teams and see what will work best for them if they let him off his leash. And you know PA has his check book ready lol. Im staying glued to the message boards, comcast sports net and nba.com for any new info! And yes CP3 is not in it for the money (nice for a change) he wants to WIN and we can sure help him do that! ahh just thinking of BROY and CP3 together....look out!

CP3 doesn't need leverage to be traded. The rebuild of New Orleans is inevitable and I doubt it will include Paul. 1- There is not much available in FA to make enough of an impact to keep Paul happy.
2- They don't have much to offer to trade for anyone to make Paul happy.
They should just cut their losses now and get something in return before it's too late. Instead of paying an unhappy star either to sit the bench or play less than 100% just because he has no leverage. Not very smart, get something now or nothing later.

Maybe the Front Office convinced him to stick around for at least part of the season. If NO has something up their sleeve, CP3 doesn't have to go anywhere to win, but if it goes downhill, NO might be able to swing him to a PG-desperate team (and get more in return)?

Hey CP3!  If something goes wrong in NO, you can always come to PDX.  Blazer fans have tickets to see the Finals...
... that's if you come down here.

In the words of Lee Corso...."Not so fast my friends!"

    From CBS Sports-

The developments in New Orleans on Monday had all the hallmarks of modern-day damage control: A rosy statement via Twitter, some positive spin in a media availability session that was noticeably devoid of actual information and apparent reasons for optimism that Chris Paul's desire to be traded will quiet down for a while.

In other words, the smokescreen formed exactly as planned after Paul met for 90 minutes with the Hornets' new basketball decision-making team in New Orleans. This is the united front being portrayed to the outside world. On the inside, little has changed: Yes, Paul wants to win, but realizes that for reasons beyond the control of new GM Dell Demps and new coach Monty Williams, it can't happen in New Orleans. And the organization itself has begun the inevitable process of exploring ways to make this end to everyone's satisfaction.
Does Portland stand firm with their offer and hope it remains the best offer the Hornets receive or do they up it a little bit to entice New Orleans?

Unless we get another solid bench player out of the deal, no way. Matthews is our best defender, our team leader, and our best three point shooter and clutch shooter. We don''t want to trade that away.

To go another season with so many rookies is not a good idea. We need a couple of vets and atleast one young bench scorer. If we want a Center, go after Hawes from Philly and Dorrell wright can be signed as a free agent. We can trade our 2nd round...

Thanks Ricky.   I''ll be watching @ 10.   Haven''t seen enough right hand from Shazamm.   Without the ability to take his defender either way off the bounce, let alone finish at the cup with either hand?   Second rounder at best.

That roster looks pretty good, but if we would have enough cash Corey or Ronnie brewer would be nice
