    From 95.5 The Game-

Supposedly, Devin Harris' name floated around a lot in Las Vegas and there could be a deal already in place. Kenny Vance (who has been spot on lately) and Jay Allen think its up to Rich Cho to give it the green light or put the brakes on it.

Take it for what its worth. I have no clue who would be invovled outside of possibly Andre, because it doesn't make sense to keep Dre if we're bringing in a player like Harris.

I wouldn't give up too much for Harris, because I feel like his value is low right now. If we were able to get away with Andre and a guy like Elliot Williams for Harris then use other pieces for Varejao then that would be even better and shore up our log-jam in the backcourt.

Yea, without a doubt. Varejao is a legit Defensive Player of the Year candidate, a much better rebounder, and he has shown an ability to score the ball. All Jeff does right now is pump the team up in the huddle. It hurts to type that, because I really like the guy as a person and the personality and charisma he shows off in interviews, but I just don't see him as an impact player in this league.

hmmm, i mean he is a good point guard but is he elite?  he can put up numbers i know that... i like andre miller but i think he kinda slows down our game a little to much... but then again he is a wise man... and do the nets really wanna get rid of harris that easy? and if so why?...

Devin is far from 'Elite", but you don't need 5 All-Stars on the court to win. He is on par with Andre in terms of skill but what gives him the upper hand is his 7 years of youth he has on Dre. Who really knows what the Nets want to do, but it would save them money as Devin has 3 years left compared to a guy like Andre who is expiring/team option.

I wouldn't mind it if we gave them Rudy and Bayless. They are going to want a PG in return and I'm not ready to keep Bayless as our backup. If you bring in Harris and move Andre to the 2nd unit then you have a legit roster. They have a billionaire for an owner, I don't think they are in a cost cutting mode yet so giving them Miller wouldn't make much sense. They will want to build around Lopez for longevity. Bayless and Rudy with Joel for salary to get Harris and maybe a second round pick.

But , my question is, what is the biggest difference in Harris and Williams, other than 10 pounds ?
I really want to see Williams before I give my final answer on the pg log jam.  No one wins championships changing pg's every season. Time to fine tune and make the decision who to roll with.

I have a feeling they will givve up miller for harris, because in my opinnion, Miller, the 11 year vet, is on his way out. Granted he did have his 52 point game last season, but i just dont see the spark and quickness that he used to have and hasnnt he been "iffy" on weather he wants to stay or not? I still stand by my decision and think that they should keep Bayless and work him into and inside outside combo gaurd, and if Harris were to come to Portland Bayless could play backup if not split the time on as PG. But all of you guys dont seem at all interested in Harris, I mean come on guys this is the Fastest man wth a basketball, Harris went from end to end on the court in 3.9 seconds during 2009 all star weekend, thats 90 feet in less that 4 sec's. He alson was ranked 2nd his rookie year for steals per game, and not to mention that neither Miller or Bayless have been to the All Star Game. Perhaps Harriss' speed will become a nicce addition to this ever so changing Portland Roster.

What i want to know is: why is everyone so quick to get rid of Andre?

i can see how he's a liability as a 3pt shooter. But if you need a 3, put someone else in. We got shooters on the bench. I can also see that Devin Harris is younger and his numbers are slightly better. I also can see that Rondo can't shoot 3s but his team got to the finals. I see that Derek Fisher is OLDER than Dre and has worse stats than Andre, but they won championships the last two years. (granted he brings intangibles to the Lakers as well). What i'm trying to say is, if your starting PG has deficiencies it's okay. (Rondo, and Fisher, and Andre). This is a team game, and based on where our roster is at, it's more about the fit and the chemistry and leadership, then it is about the skills the PG brings. Sometimes the best trade, is no trade at all.

I trust that management will make the right moves. We are not the experts here. I just think that sometimes, us fans make up some ridiculous trade scenarios for an all star point guard (cp3), at the expense of key players (batum, etc). Our roster is so good. It's all about staying healthy now.

I'm sure harris would make our team better, somehow. But at the same time it depends on what we're giving up to get him. If it aint worth it, I am more than happy having Dre run the Point.

I'm really not high on Devin Harris. He hasn't shown that he really could lead a team at the PG position which is what our offense needs. Too often we depend on Brandon Roy to start the offense, but that's what was nice with Andre. He came in immediately and got our offense going.

As far as why everyone is quick to trade Andre is this. 7 million dollars in expiring contract money potentially after next season. He is a point guard who can come in immediately and contribute. This is why you are hearing PGs like Chris Paul, Tony Parker and Devin Harris in trade rumors to Portland. I love Andre Miller and when we signed him last season I really thought he would take us to the top, and you know what if it weren't for the injuries he just might of.

That would be pretty sick if they landed Devin Harris. He averaged 17 ppg and 6.5 apg last year. Let's not forget he owns the Guinness World Record for "fastest man with a basketball," running the length of the court in 3.9 seconds. If you trade Miller, Andre, and Rudy for Harris and a future draft pick, you have room to put both Armon and Patty on the roster and get another big.

It's not getting rid of Miller that is popular, it is the idea that his expiring contract is more valuable to other teams. The Nets, however, aren't concerned with money so it isn't as big of a deal for them since they have an eccentric billionaire owner. As far as the four team trade idea, no thanks. I'll keep LA over Dirk not to mention half those teams would say "NO" to that idea. Finally, when it comes to the difference between Harris and Bayless, the difference is that Harris really is a PG where as Bayless is more of an undersized SG. Harris is a little quicker both laterally and forward. Harris is a better ball handler as well. Bayless could develop into a good PG, but I don't think he would surpass Harris on these categories.

Agree frog,  according to someone on blazers edge who I trust, (reminds me a lot of the old mrblazer) Williams actually weighs around 195 now,  not the 185 listed at draft express, so body wise, he is Harris.
Even better comparison, a taller Rex with a  wing span. ;)

Harris is a good PG i mean he was an allstar that deserved it not like Mo. I would take Harris over Miller because Harris can shoot. I would go for Harris only if the Paul deal fails witch i hope it wont. The only thing is we cant give up too much for him like we would for Paul.
