    From The Hoops Market-
Patrick Mills has an offer from Virtus Bologna to leave the NBA, and play in Europe next season. The 21-year-old Australian guard played last season for the Portland Trail Blazers in his first year as a professional, though he also assigned to the D-League affiliated team Idaho Stampede several times. Mills averaged 2.6 points and 0.5 assists per game for the Blazers in 10 games.

I'm not sure if this is telling news or huge news, or anything at all. Even if Patty doesn't make our roster, I would think he has shown enough to get on with another NBA team as a backup or 3rd point guard. Who knows, maybe he wants a lot of playing time which a team in Italy can provide him?

I hope he gets a nice contract somewhere. I just dont see him ever fitting with Nates system. But we'll see where he ends up.

Patty needs to go get that $$$, because I don't think his contract in the NBA will be very high. If I were him, I'd go overseas, tear it up for a couple of years, and then come back and get some form of the mid-level exception. Plus, for the most part, the European teams will pay for everything for you down there..from housing to automobiles or maybe josh Chilldress was the exception when he made the move to Olympiakos.

If Patty doesn't get any NBA team offers, I can't see him putting pen to paper with any Euro league teams until after the FIBA worlds are finished with.  A good showing there will open up alot of doors for him.  Right now I don't think money is a motivating factor for him; playing quality basketball minutes is.  I'm kinda resigned to the fact that he is lost to the Blazers, but realistically if he stayed, he would be wasted sitting on the bench anyway. At 21 years of age he needs quality game time if he needs to reach the level that some Blazer fans are expecting of him after 10 games in limited minutes.  After having a 38 point game for Idaho followed by a 20 plus game including the game winner, I wished the Blazers left him in the D-League to develope from there and get more games under his belt.  At least the nay sayers could judge Patty on the basis of a solid season in the D-league as opposed to junk minutes at the end of the 10 games that he played.  On a bright note he will get some exposure against China followed by the FIBA worlds and with Australia looking to get through to the 2nd round a match up again for Patty against Team USA is likely, watch this space.....

Virtus Bologna was who Earl Boykins was playing for, Koponen too. I think it would be an OK option for him, but if I were him I'd wait for an NBA offer and maybe go to the D-League and hope for my 10 day opportunity in the NBA. Once you are overseas I don't think you can come back until the next offseason.

Rumors have shown that the Rockets are very interested in Dwight Howard and that the interest is mutual.

    I''d trade for Asik.

Sanders better shotblocker, better dunker and around the rim, Asik better defensively. I think Asik will have the better career.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
