    Hm more than half of his buckets seem to come on the break.  I've been wondering if he can only play in an up-tempo offense cause that's what the Jazz seem like.  We have the pieces with JB, Rudy, and Wes running the second unit to have that group be up-tempo, but I don't know.

    highlights come off the break or during mismatches mostly so I wouldn't narrow down his game because you saw some clips, I wouldn't even try to narrow down his game at all at this point no matter if you saw him play all season, too young too talented and from what it seems too hungry to settle for anything but getting better. I like this guy playing alongside andre a lot though, mix that with some healthy big men and were golden. I think we may have an even been better bench than in recent years, and when it comes time for playoffs or whenever they choose to squeeze the rotation to 8 or 9, we will be a force to be reckoned with when healthy.

    I didn't have the inpression of only seeing fast break plays in that clip at all. I did this really quick, but this should be pretty close.

    There were 38 plays in that clip.
    Of those, 14 were fast break.
    of those 14, 5 were steals or turnovers caused by him that led to fast breaks, most of which he finished.
    There was also 2 blocks, one that he turned into a sweet behind the back assist.

    There were actually quite a few 3's where he set up and knocked them down.

    I think this guy is a pretty legit player. We'll see if he earns his money, but I'm pretty excited to have him here.

    This guy is a gamer people. Im not only excited, im honored to have him. I saw this kid block Kobe's shot. Which means he wasnt in awe of him. Outstanding pick up. He just might be worth the chips.

    I couldn't help but notice Wesley's ability to finish with his left, and in traffic.  He had a number of "and-1's" in this clip featuring an off-hand finish.  The other thing worth mentioning, was the obvious trust his all-star point guard seemed to have in him...as a rookie.

    This kid is not only the epitome of a "Nate guy", a scrapper...he is also a BDawg guy (note my fan statement).
    Matthews brings an element to this roster that was sorely needed.  In a league dominated by greedy prima donnas, who, on a nightly basis, worship the green and foresake the game...Wesley Matthews just may be their kryptonite.  Here's hoping the chips don't spoil the milk

    I have a feeling that Wesley Matthews is going to be a fan favorite about a month into the season. Portland fans just don't know it yet. The guy is solid and doesn't play like a rookie (2nd year guy). As an undrafted rookie he played with a chip on his shoulder. He was out to prove he belonged in the NBA. This year, he has to continue to prove something; that he's worth the money he's getting paid. He's a Blue collar guy. He's going to bring a toughness to a Portland team that i think is a little too finesse.

    I love players who possess a high bball I.Q. That's why Pippen is my favorite player of all time. In today's NBA, it's easy to find a guy who can shoot the rock. Or go to the bucket. But it's not as easy to find a guy that's gonna play on both ends; a guy willing to get his hands and jersey a little dirty just for an extra possession; A guy who's always a few steps ahead of his opponent. I think Wesley Matthews has everything he needs to be a big time contributor on this team. If i ever have doubts about him, all i gotta ask is, "is he better than martell and rudy?" and my answer right now is YES. I hope i'm right.

    I love the Grit and Grind, and I love the Spurs timeless play. I think if the Spurs get to the finals, they will beat the heat, but they won''t beat the Grizzlies easily, and the Grizz can''t beat the Heat. I know it''s weird.
