Juwon Howard to the Heat

    Miller agreed to terms with the Heat about a week ago and was in South Florida to sign his five-year contract on Thursday. The team did not announce the signing until other minor details were addressed, and now will quickly move to close deals that are expected with center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and forward Juwan Howard, among others.

    I don't get the move at all. He obviously still has the passion to play, but why sign with a team where he'll get zero run in? He'll be the 5th big man on the depth chart behind Bosh, Haslem, Big Z, & Anthony. I hope he has a good season but doesn't end up with a ring. Sorry Juwan, I can't root for a team with LeBron on it. First Steve, now Juwan...ugh..tough summer for Blazer fans to deal with seeing former guys go play for the evil empires of the NBA.

    He deserves a ring and his time in the league is coming to an end and the blazers are not doing anything to better their roster.  Who offers that much money to a second year player who hasn't done anything?  All the other teams are bettering their roster while we do nothing and then we go after some dude named cho for gm.  Paul Allen needs to fire himself.

    He's gone farther in the playoffs than any blazer we have except Camby and maybe Andre.

    They are gonna need all five. Each one only has the wind to play about 5 minutes at a time.

    What's the status on Juwan?  I haven't heard if he has indeed gone to the heat.  Anybody know?

    I've read in multiple articles it's in the works, one went so far as to say they plan to announce the deal with Juwon next week as well as another former blazer Jamal Maglore. Juwon, (James) Jones, Maglore, all blazers that will be playing witht he heat, lets send Rudy and give em a little more of our third string (sorry Juwon).

    Ah, gonna miss him(Juwan) for sure.  I cant imagine Rudy here in Portland next year just cause of all of the controversy about him not being happy here.  We need to get something back for him though, I hope there is a big deal in the works.
