Mr. Allen:  Close your eyes and imagine you've assembled your OWN version of a "power team" in the west here in P'Town.  Your Blazers are thought to be legitimate contenders for the title.  Once in the finals, presumably facing the Heat, how many more new Blazer fans can you possibly imagine WORLD WIDE, given the general distaste for what has gone on in Miami?  You may very well have every state in the union, but Florida, backing your team's crusade.  Imagine the jersey sales.  Imagine the exposure.  Imagine an all-star game here.

We are but one major piece away from having that team.

    IMAGINE...

Patty Mills is looking awesome in the Vegas summer league. I hope we don't end up having to choose between Armon Johnson and Patty because that would be a shame.  Mills cost the team last year and Johnson cost the team money to move up in the draft this year.Of course we have not yet gotten to see Elliot Williams play this summer. Now the Blazers are (once again) holding their breath waiting on the Jazz and the offer for Wes Matthews - another guard. I hope we have a plan because this seems confused. Ship Rudy and get whatever (draft pick).

Actually, I'm pretty sure they did cost the team money. Portland spent like 2 mil to move up and ten spaces and get Johnson. Mills, instead of keeping him over seas, spent last year on the roster and not playing which meant Money. Regardless though, the terms of the contract were not disclosed so there maybe a clause that states he could be traded after a signing moratorium. Realistically, we don't have to choose between Mills and Johnson because Mills isn't under contract with the Blazers. He's a FA. Johnson is under contract. It's all in the hands of the GM and Paul Allen to see which direction this team goes. Do they clear room and keep Mills? Do they stand pat and play Johnson in garbage time? What trade offers will come out of Summer League? Will the Blazers make a major splash in the off season or are they destined to be the team that talks a lot of hype but can never land the big deal? Pray that Pfund signs by Friday.

Respectfully, and quite possibly for the first time, I have to disagree with you.  Unless Dre is both resigning AND able to perform at last seasons level for the next several years...this team is missing a general, a quarterback if you will.  While I believe that a healthy Oden is essential to a possible championship push, so too do I believe in having a high quality playmaker and table setter

Nice Idea but I think the TWolves trade is very lobsided in our favor

Derrick Williams and Budinger are proven players in the league. Claver and Freeland are not

Hawes was playing nice this season and would be a good pick up imo ...

I love the Grit and Grind, and I love the Spurs timeless play. I think if the Spurs get to the finals, they will beat the heat, but they won''t beat the Grizzlies easily, and the Grizz can''t beat the Heat. I know it''s weird.
